My client is seeking a Senior Manager to join their Public Affairs team.
This role is provisionally six-month contract position; however, there is potential for conversion into a permanent position.
Reporting into UK&I oncology Public Affairs lead (Director), this role is mainly responsible for managing product area and pipeline communications, patient communications and advocacy and related internal and corporate communications within the affiliate.
- Manage the implementation of programmes to communicate the value of medicines deliver throughout their lifecycle in the disease areas we are focused on
- Coordinate with cross-functional colleagues to ensure alignment and collaboration on strategic priorities and messaging across different stakeholders Help to develop/strengthen relationships with a wide variety of community advocates, organisations and professionals
- Support the planning for patient centric disease awareness & communication campaigns to engage with communities we serve
- Prepare press releases, presentations, internal newsletters and other communications material
- Support the coordination of responses to media requests
- Manage day-to-day agency relationships for relevant projects, such as providing direction and project management and managing budgets to targets
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, internal policies/procedures and external codes
Desired experience and skills:
* 5-7 years of public relations experience in pharmaceutical and healthcare
* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
* Experience in UK media relations in addition to knowledge of healthcare and industry media and reporting trends
* Recent experience of communicating in and around breast cancer, specifically mTNBC
* Experience in patient advocacy and the co-creation of multi-channel campaigns
* Digital savviness, and experienced in social media campaign planning
* Demonstrated knowledge of regulations and principles specific to communications for a publicly-traded biopharmaceutical company
* Experience managing multiple projects (timelines, budgets, priorities) simultaneously; flexibility and results-oriented focus are essential
* Ability to interact with senior management and high-profile experts appropriately, and with confidence and ease
* Recent or current agency experience is preferred, or another fast-paced environment with competing priorities
* Knowledge of the UK health policy and HTA environment
