THE PROJECT

Our client's mission is to create photonic biosensors beyond the state-of-the.art for a variety of clinical applications, with the goal of simplifying the diagnostics pathway at healthcare institutions.

THE ROLE

• Designing Cartridges, Manifolds, and other fluidic systems for fabrication.
• Interfacing with external foundries regarding design rules, process tolerances, and layout requirements, ensuring the smooth production.
• Testing of designed devices to assess performance and possible design improvements to enhance yield while meeting all applicable specifications. This includes the design and realization of specific fluidic measurement setups.
• Applying application oriented regulations to the design.
• Ability to interface with the electronic, mechanical, photonic, optic, chemical and clinical teams in close collaboration and implement first prototypes of the in-vitro diagnostic device.
• Mentoring and training of junior staff.

REQUIREMENTS

• PhD in an engineering area or physics.
• Deep knowledge of physical principles related to microfluidics.
• At least 5 years of demonstrable experience developing microfluidic devices in industry applications
• Experience integrating biological assays into cartridges
• Knowledge in material sciences regarding biocompatibility.
• Advanced knowledge in CAD Software (Alibre, Solidworks, etc.)
• Experience with simulation software for microfluidics.
• Ability to manufacture functional prototypes.
• Design for product manufacturing.
• Experience working with polymers for microfluidics.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
