KEY RESPONSIBILITIES MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage all department staff in performing their delegated tasks
2. Ensure that all department staff acquires required skillsets, knowledge and certifications through appropriate training and professional development programs (in coordination with the Human Capital and Administration Division).
3. Periodically appraise the staff. Coach and counsel them as required. Encourage good communication among all levels of staff.
4. Prepare periodic performance reports for the department and provide inputs to the business unit’s performance report. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Create designs, concepts and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles, practical design concepts and corporate standards. 2. Work closely with the design team to execute creative strategies for projects by creating viable design schemes. Guide less experienced team members as needed. 3. Design and produce a diverse range of marketing and communication materials, including brands and logos, illustrations, diagrams, icons, presentations, email campaigns, promotional brochures, event displays, advertisements, signage, reports, web pages, trade show booths and others as requested. 4. Supervise and review progress and quality of projects. Work closely with other designers to ensure quality and compliance with corporate standards and professional graphic standards. 5. Create and review new resource tools to enhance production support services (i.e. print template guides, image libraries, virtual design rooms, etc.) 6. Establish guidelines and coordinate with third party contractors as required (may include photographers, illustrators etc.) 7. Maintain understanding of creative/graphic trends and recommend visual & design direction while complying with corporate guidelines and international requirements. 8. Maintain awareness of international design standards/requirements applicable to the business such as CMMI/AAMA and other specifications. 9. Maintain visual continuity and brand recognition across all physical manifestations of any given brand, product, software, project within company. 10. Participate in setting and monitoring of all graphics standards and guidelines for company corporate and internal clients.
