JOB SUMMARY :

The Senior Pediatric Cardiac Perfusionist at our top-tier hospital in Saudi Arabia plays a pivotal role in ensuring the success of pediatric cardiac surgeries. you will be responsible for operating and maintaining perfusion equipment, monitoring vital parameters during procedures, and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary medical team. Your role extends to educating and training staff, staying abreast of advancements in perfusion technology, and contributing to research initiatives.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   

• Reviewing patients' medical history and current condition.
• Collaborating with attending physicians to select suitable equipment and extracorporeal techniques.
• Setting up and testing the heart-lung machine and related equipment.
• Operating the machine to regulate blood circulation, control body temperature, and administer blood products.
• Providing additional therapeutic services such as administering medical gases, anesthetics, drugs, and crystalloid solutions.
• Performing induced hypothermia, hemodilution, and ventricular assists (RVAD, LVAD, Impella, IABP).
• Conducting vascular bypass during organ transplantation and offering long-term pulmonary support (ECMO).
• Performing hemoconcentration, autotransfusion, and blood salvage.
• Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment, promptly reporting faults and problems.
• Upholding patient privacy and dignity, maintaining strict confidentiality, and advocating for patient/family rights.
• Ensuring appropriate and timely documentation of procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Perfusion or completing a program from an accredited institution is a crucial step towards becoming a certified perfusionist and building a career in this specialized healthcare field.
• Master's Degree or equivalent qualification in Pediatric Cardiac Perfusion
• Completion of required period of training in Pediatric Cardiac Perfusion.
• Membership and/or Fellowship status in America and/or Europe or their equivalent and fulfilling the criteria for Senior as required.
• (Arab, Jordanian, Lebanese )Board certification in the relevant medical specialty is typical.
• Saudi Arab or American /European Board Certification or equivalent.
• Dataflow is a must.

Professional Experience

• Eligible for registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
• Minimum of 5 (Five) years' practical experience in a hospital setting.
• Proven experience in pediatric cardiac surgery services.

Language

• Proficiency in English; additional proficiency in Arabic may be beneficial.
