Senior Pre-Sales Engineer – North America

The role
The Senior Pre-Sales Engineer can be based anywhere within North America and will work individually and as part of a team to establish the business and technical value of their products, solutions and services in order to meet customer specific PLM and digital transformation requirements. You will communicate the PLM vision for full lifecycle digital thread solutions by building and demonstrating their products and customization abilities in order to secure the “technical close” in complex solutions sales. In your role as a trusted advisor for customers, you will collaborate with sales, consulting, and product management resources to ensure our technical solutions address customer needs and exceed the expectations of end users, management and IT.
The Senior Pre-Sales Engineer will report to the VP of Operations North America and will work within the North American Operations group (based in Massachusetts). The position can be remotely based.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical pre-sales activities for global manufacturers.
- Work closely with Technical Account Management (TAM), Customer Success Management (CSM) and Professional Services (PSO) teams to close new customers and expansions, and grow the sales pipeline
- Scope, create and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations focusing on detailed feature capabilities and highlighting the business value of the solution to customers.
- Able to differentiate the products and services and build relationship with customers
- Map customer requirements to current and future features to ensure a clear representation of how their solutions address the customer needs
- Lead the build and execution of customized the solution demonstrations.
- Lead the technical responses for customer provided RFI/RFP/RFQ requests
- Provide training to sales team on solution architectures, product features and enhancements to existing products
Skills
- Minimum of 10 years presenting and demonstrating PLM or other enterprise Software Solutions
- Experience with multiple industries (Auto, Med Devices, Aerospace & Defense, High Tech) and can demonstrate knowledge of key enterprise domains such as engineering, quality, manufacturing and maintenance.
- Familiar with various industry specific processes and regulatory requirements for example: CMII, APQP, PFMEA, DFMEA, PPAP, FDA submissions, systems validation, electronic signatures, Federal procurement practices, ITAR, and Authorization to Operate, End of Life, RoHS, as well as general knowledge of PLM data management.
- Able to develop complete and accurate proposals with minimal need for review.
- Excellent listening capability; analytical construction of message content; clear and concise delivery of message.
- Detail oriented with the ability to thrive in a complex and highly consultative sales process.
- Deep familiarity with processes and people typical in organizations considering enterprise software purchase.
- A passion for working with multifaceted enterprise teams to successfully drive real and measurable business benefits for customers.
- Strong client service orientation - ability to develop productive relationships and demonstrate high credibility to earn "trusted advisor" status
