Product Design Engineer

The main responsibility of the Product Engineering department is the development of new products. In the broadest sense, the PE department carries out the detailed design activities to ensure that new products can be mass produced by sector Operations. 

The PE department is involved in value engineering, troubleshooting, and product quality related activities on the existing product portfolio and provides general engineering support activities for the internal organization such as GSS, GCS, OMD, Production and MMD.

About your team

As an expansion of Global Product Engineering department, they are looking to set up a Product Engineering team in Jucu, Romania. This team will initially carry-out routine, entry-level engineering tasks, with perspective of becoming an all-purpose engineering centre.

About the role

The Product Engineer is responsible for detailed design drawing so that the new product can be produced in series at an acceptable cost. The Product Engineer is also responsible for design improvements, 0-Series phase of new products and support.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for researching and developing ideas and processes for new products. Improves upon the performance and design of existing products and oversees production and packaging of final product.

• Concepting and solution finding;
• 3D modelling in Inventor;
• 2D design drawings;
• Perform supporting activities to maintain product availability and troubleshooting (Operations, Customer service, Procurement and Supply chain);
• Requirements engineering;
• Risk Identification and Assessment (RI&A) /DFMEA;
• Structural engineering;
• Value engineering (incl. costing);
• Manufacturability assessment and optimization;
• Reviewing work by others (technical reviews, design documentation);
• Test plan creation and design validation.

Education, Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
• 3-7 years of relevant working experience;
• Professional working proficiency in English and Romanian;
• Proven Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) software;
• Experience with Inventor/VAULT is considered a plus;
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is considered a plus;
• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is considered a plus;
• Experience with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

• Able to work with deadlines;
• Result oriented.
