Job Title: Senior Qualified Accountant

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Qualified Accountant to lead our finance team. This pivotal role involves managing financial operations across our group of companies, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in our accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee statutory accounting processes, including HMRC filings, VAT returns, and payroll.
• Manage financial records in Xero, ensuring accuracy in all transactions and reconciliations.
• Prepare year-end accounts, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
• Integrate accounting functions with property management software, collaborating closely with the property management team.
• Manage cash flow, treasury operations, and provide liquidity management advice to the board.
• Handle mortgage and loan financing, including liaising with external funders and preparing financial analyses.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and reports for presentation to the board and external funders.
• Oversee payables, receivables, and service charge accounting, ensuring efficient procedures and timely collections.
• Manage bank funding submissions for construction development.
• Conduct financial modeling and analysis for potential investment opportunities.
• Develop and manage budgets, conduct variance analysis, and provide cost-reduction recommendations.
• Suggest and implement improvements in accounting processes and controls.
• Lead and develop the accounting team to maintain high standards of service.

Qualifications:

• Professional Accountancy Qualification.
• Xero Certified.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in real estate investment, property management, and/or construction is highly desirable.
