Main purpose of job
- Manage existing and develop new relationships within the Region with focus on SME businesses through proactive business activity.

Key responsibilities / accountabilities
- Maintain, develop and deepen relationships with existing and new customers to increase overall value of accounts within designated portfolio.
- Constantly seek to drive growth in income lines for the bank by contributing to the growth of interest and non-interest income for the bank through the achievement of Risk Assets and Liabilities target set for designated portfolio.
- Build robust relationships across the bank for the provision of good customer services in an efficient and timely manner.
- Input into the development of team strategy for Retail & Business Banking Department within the region in line with the overall business objectives of the bank.
- Originate transactions and structure in a manner that reflects market conditions and mitigates inherent risks whilst optimizing capital allocation and returns to the bank.
- Prepare proposals, pitches and information memoranda for the distribution of assets. Build and maintain counterpart relationships for the distribution and acquisition of assets.
- Build, maintain, monitor and report on transaction pipeline
- Identify and explore opportunities for strategic alliances with like-minded financial institutions especially MSBs.
- Provide first line support to the Credit Risk Department in their analysis of proposed credit facilities for customers.
- Provide first line support to the Credit Administration Department in ensuring that approved facilities are well documented and efficiently executed.
- Monitor market/ competitor activity, benchmarks and market trends to ensure that opportunities for new business are not overlooked and market share is not eroded but significantly enhanced.
- Maintain regular contact with existing and prospective customers by visiting and networking with the view to attract business for the Bank.
- Act as the first line of defence with regards to managing Financial Crime risk within customer base by ensuring that Customer Due Diligence and Compliance related matters are handled in line with the policy of the Bank.
- Produce Management Information pertaining to portfolio as and when required.
- Work in a highly ethical manner consistent with Bank’s policies and culture.
- Support CBO/Head of Department/Senior Manager Business Banking in other administrative functions as and when delegated.

Knowledge
- Extensive knowledge about the banking industry/ economies of Ghana and across the sub region/ Africa
- Good knowledge and understanding of bank’s credit policy and operations
- Good appreciation of Trade Finance, Treasury, Payments and Transaction Banking Products
- Up to date knowledge of compliance regulation, including money laundering, fraud, tax evasion, etc,
Experience
- 4 to 5 years direct experience and extensive knowledge in corporate banking/business banking/public sector/financial institutions or related desk at a senior level with focus on relationship management.
- Experience dealing with cross border relationships and account opening process
- Experience in lending and deal structuring
- Team lead experience is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- A master’s degree is an added advantage
