Position Summary

We search for our client a Senior Sales Manager in Specialty chemical sales sector. The main product portfolio is pharmaceutical ingredients/raw materials or nutraceutical raw materials to targeted clients can be Pharmaceutical/medicine manufacturers.
Competitive salary package + company car will be provided. Location can be home office in Belgium or Netherlands. Our client also offers office based either in Netherlands and Belgium.
Your position
Serves as the technical expert in Benelux territory for the sale and territory management of pharmaceutical sector. Identifies key potential Customers in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech and nutrition industries within the region, manages dealer networks, and develops and maintains Customer accounts to meet sales targets and increase sales and profits within the territory. Participates in technical discussion and implementation of sales strategies, identifies prospects, calls on Customers, presents new concepts and products and ensures optimal service.
Potential growth of this position can be a managerial role in short term.
Duties
- Evaluation, definition, and positioning product portfolio according to market requirement.
- Ensures the Sales & Commercial introduction to targeted marketplace - Searching for opportunities, maintaining, and expanding contacts in the branch.
- Management of a broad product portfolio while identifying gaps to support the gain of new suppliers on local & group level. Establishing & maintaining long term customer & supplier relationships.
- Contribute to maintain robust pipeline of new projects/new supplier’s opportunities
- Prevents and manages the conflicts of any nature with customers/Suppliers.
- Regular follow up of turnover/ margins according to budget and objectives
- Participation to digital marketing/communication actions (website, trade fairs, associations, Social networks…)
- Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge within areas of responsibility.
- Close collaboration with Sales team, customer service colleagues, warehouse colleagues and group development team
- Responsibility for stock management.
Professional – Technical
- Languages – Dutch native is ideal and English spoken and written fluency required
- Strong understanding of Customer and market dynamics and requirements, with demonstrated ability to expand existing Customer relationships as well as develop new ones
- Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals
- Knowledge of Customer needs
- Works in a self-directed capacity, adapt to change, and set priorities and balance sales and administrative duties
- Works a flexible schedule and travel in region and EU as required minimum 30% of the time. Valid passport and driving license
Interpersonal
- Strong business acumen, with ability to understand and monitor trends, maintain and develop Customer, product and market knowledge and apply that knowledge to effectively influence sales.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, analytical and formal presentation skills, with ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization, as well as with Customers
- Strong skills in persuasion and influence, with ability to negotiate skillfully with both internal and external groups
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a biochemistry, chemistry, (biologist)
- Sales Commercial Experience of 5-7 years minimum in the field of pharmaceutical ingredients (excipients, APIs).
- Knowing quite well the world of distribution Market and local pharmaceutical industry in Benelux.
