Role

The role of a Senior Structural Engineer within our design firm is to be responsible for 1-3 projects in the field of structural engineering.

The Senior Structural Engineer contributes to the development of calculation models (ETABS), efficiently identifies and resolves structural issues within projects, and is responsible for all project stages where designated as Responsible/Developer - Structural Specialty, under the coordination of the Department Head.

Responsibilities

• Pre-dimensioning of structural elements.
• Overall structural compliance.
• Creation of the numeric model.
• Calculation of structural elements in accordance with applicable norms.
• Preparation of technical documentation - written and graphical parts for various project phases (S.F./D.A.L.I., D.T.A.C., P.T.+D.E.).
• Preparation of quantity lists.
• Participation in technical project implementation by providing on-site technical assistance.
• Candidates with limited or moderate experience will receive support from the team in fulfilling the responsibilities described above, as well as in the learning process.
• Responsible for all project stages in projects where designated as Responsible/Developer - Structural Specialty (in coordination with the Department Head).
• Checks the coordination of the Structural Specialty for projects in which they are responsible, with other specialties (Installations, Architecture), e.g., creating openings plans.
• Available for travel regarding technical assistance, participation in critical project phases, both in Bucharest and throughout the country (Driver's License Category B is an advantage).

Qualifications / Education

• Years of Experience: 5 - 10 years - general professional experience.
• 5 years - civil construction design experience.
• Graduate of the Faculty of Civil, Industrial, and Agricultural Construction, Civil, Industrial, and Agricultural Construction department (CCIA).
• Master's in Structural Engineering/Building Engineering/Design of Civil and Industrial Buildings in Seismic Zones is an advantage.
• Experience in public works tenders is an advantage (Similar experience - CCIA Engineer Specialist/Key Expert and/or Collective Coordinator).

Practical Competencies (Proven Experience)

• Experience in working with BIM systems (Revit) - Advantageous.
• Proven experience of at least 5 years in developing complex projects (NOT ONLY individual housing, collective housing).
• Desired/Advantageous: Revit, Mathcad, Cross Section, Robot, SAP2000.
• Proven experience in specialty design - Structural - for all design stages: SF, DALI, PT, DE, Technical Assistance, As Built.
• Proven experience in the development of written parts (Technical Memoranda - SF, DALI, PT, DE phases), Calculation Summaries, Critical Phase Program, etc.
• Proven experience in developing specifications.
• Proven experience in coordinating with specialties (architecture, installations) in complex projects/public projects (military units, schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and other health buildings, sports halls, offices, etc.).
• Good communication and relationship-building skills, ability to work in mixed teams.
• Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and easily adapt work pace according to delivery deadlines.

Knowledge

• Experience in working with BIM systems (Revit) - Advantageous.
• Knowledge of domain legislation, particularly regulations and standards for structural design.
• Specific experience in public projects, with a focus on education and medical fields, as well as public administrative buildings - Advantageous.
• Specific/related experience regarding consolidation solutions, rehabilitation, and consolidation within the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan), applicability to financing axes with an impact in the structural specialty, etc.

Essential Requirements (Desirable – Represents an Advantage)

• AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of working with BIM systems - Advantageous.
• ETABS.
• Mathcad, Cross Section, Robot, SAP2000.
• Microsoft Suite (Office 365 – Teams, Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).

Language Knowledge

• Essential: Fluent in Romanian (written and spoken).
• Desirable (Advantageous): Medium level of English (written and spoken), knowledge of other foreign languages.
