Position : Service Engineer 2 - Cloud Backup Administration

Experience: 4 - 7 years

Location: Hyderabad, India

The Cloud Engineering and Ops team drives cloud migrations, engineering and OnPrem hosting, compute, storage data protection, data engineering for the Technology, Engineering & Operations organization. We support OnPrem and Azure cloud infra running Windows, Linux VM’s and SQL, Oracle databases.

Role and Responsibles:

• Enabling Data Protection for Providence and its affiliates
• Installation and configuration of TSM/SP/SPP Backup servers and Clients
• Responsible for defining strategies for Backup and Recovery techniques, Space, User and Security management
• Analyze existing Storage & backup environment and provide expert advice for optimizations
• Build Self Service Backup solutions using Automation skills for OnPrem and Azure End users
• Build and Operate Disaster Recovery Solutions
• Error resolutions and RCA for Major Incidents
• Able to present KPIs to stake holders
• Bring Engineering and Automation skillsets

What would your day look like?

• Manage different Storage & Backup configurations. Agent and Snapshot based backup clients
• Research and implement modern features in TSM/SP/SPP solutions to drive greater backup compliance
• Build modern backup solution using Azure backups and drive adaptability
• Installation and configuration of Backup servers and Clients across Azure and OnPrem
• Co-ordination with various application teams to increase backup coverage for environment.
• Administer Storage platforms associated with backups and beyond
• Root cause Analysis for MIs
• Proper Documentation of work tasks and enable Shift Left
• Drive Get Current and Stay Current Initiatives for Compliance
• Use Automation to build tools and scripts for reducing manual churn
• Drive multiple projects and stakeholder management, reporting & dashboards

Must-have:

• 4-7 years of experience in managing Data Protection and Storage space
• Candidate must possess in-depth knowledge on Storage & Backup infrastructure to administrating/architecting solutions
• Expertise in Azure Backups and Spectrum protect backup applications is a must
• Expertise in Migrating TSM to SP and SPP
• Expertise in writing Shell, Bash, PowerShell, or Phyton Scripts and working on platforms like Ansible is essential
• Experience is writing SQL scripts for fetching and performing Data Analyses
• Troubleshooting knowledge in Unix and windows platform
• Experience in Storage array management is essential for the role
• Ability to learn and adapt to changing landscape and acquire new skills with technology advancement
• Strong communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills both in written and verbal correspondence
