About the Job:
As the Head of Site Engineering for our client, you will lead a professional engineering team to ensure the availability, functionality, and reliability of production equipment, facilities, and utilities. Your primary responsibility is to enable current and future production flow in a safe, quality, and cost-effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:

Equipment and Systems Management:
- Ensure installations and changes to equipment and systems comply with approved protocols, change control procedures, and relevant cGMP and corporate requirements.

Site Master Planning:
- Develop a site Master Plan (5 years) outlining facility upgrades and investments, aligning with business continuity, quality, environmental health and safety (EHS) requirements, and global strategy.

Asset Introduction:
- Initiate and lead the introduction of new assets, equipment, and systems aligned with approved change control procedures.

Compliance and Regulations:
- Provide guidance to ensure compliance with all applicable external and internal regulations related to Quality and EHS in the engineering scope.

Continuous Improvement:
- Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives using Operational Excellence principles, developing and implementing Engineering best practices.

Resource Management:
- Run an efficient and effective Engineering activity by managing the Engineering site budget and resources.

Team Leadership:
- Lead a professional Engineering team, identifying, developing, and retaining qualified individuals to provide Engineering and Maintenance services.

Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Act as an influential functional expert within the site leadership team, promoting cross-site initiatives, teamwork, and collaboration across functions.

Global Best Practices:
- Implement global best practices, actively sharing knowledge and lessons learned to contribute to a high professional level of engineering globally.

Supplier Communication:
- Serve as the main representative in communication with suppliers, subcontractors, and planning firms, ensuring efficient and effective work aligned with business interests and global agreements.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical/Facility/Pharmaceutical/Biochemical/Process).
- Proven experience in maintenance in a relevant industrial production environment.
- Proven project management experience.
- Knowledge and experience of chemical and pharmaceutical production and packaging processes and equipment.
- Working knowledge of Good Engineering Practices (GEP).
- Knowledge of facility and utility systems.
- Knowledge of key technologies (nice to have).
- Basic working knowledge of process controls.
- Good understanding of environment, health, and safety (EHS).
- Advanced knowledge of Operational Excellence (OPEX) principles and tools.
- Ability to interpret and localize specifications and standards.
- Ability to manage Capital and Operational expenses.
- Knowledge of current pharmaceutical, regulatory, and technology trends.
- Financial understanding.
- Knowledge of cGMP, EH&S, and applicable local regulations.
- Oral and written fluency in English and Romanian.
