Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Support all automation system aspects software, vision, and communication
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and failure analysis at customer sites
- Programming and troubleshooting PLC/IPC logic and robotics from known brands such as Beckhoff, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, etc.
- Recommend process improvements to ensure system scalability and reliability
- Participate in the development and implementation of deployment plans
- Design equipment assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications
- Work with the project team to deploy and troubleshoot system applications
- Together with other stakeholders, draft technical documentation and support documentation for customers
- Work with project managers to develop deployment specifications and configurations
- Integration with ERP, shop-floor management systems support (such as PLCs, drivers, robot controllers, Industrial communications protocols)
- Act as the primary customer contact for deployment and post deployment-related inquiries and issues
- Join customer meetings to support from a business development aspect
- Work on customer sites locally in Romania as well as travel to customers in other countries in the EMEA region up to 40% of the time
Requirements:
- BSc. in Automation, Software, Robotics, or other technical field
- At least 5 years of experience as a software, automation, or service engineer
- At least 2 years in a customer-facing role
- Experience with multi-disciplinary systems, multi-software platforms, as well as industrial automation and manufacturing
- Knowledge of PLC logic and programming, troubleshooting, and configuration of industry-leading robots (i.e. Beckhoff, Wago, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley)
- Experience working with robotic controllers, transfer devices, automation equipment, peripheral equipment, and mechanical units
- Knowledge of Serial and Bus Communication protocols: Ethernet/Profinet, RS232/422/485, Modbus, CAN Open, EtherCAT, Profibus, TCP/IP, and others
- Technical savvy and system-oriented
- Loves to work in a dynamic and changing environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to assist customers on-site and remote, as well as working with remote teams and stakeholders
- Capable of analyzing, debugging, and solving complex problems
- Quick learner, team player, able to work under pressure and multi-task
- Self-starter with the ability to work productively with minimal supervision
- Fluency in English (oral and written)
