For an icon and historical Hotel near Rome, we are looking for a
Spa Director
THE COMPANY
The Hotel, part of an Italian Hospitality Group, has recently been through a long and intensive renovation process and is fast becoming one of the most important medical spas internationally.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Spa Director will play a very important role in the day to day operations of the SPA department. He/She will be responsible for the following:
LEADERSHIP DUTIES:
- Maintain and motivate the entire SPA team, and be able to create a great culture of care and service excellence among employees.
- Create an environment of sincere trust among and with staff members
- Able to provide guidance, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes.
- Responsible for the department training plan and conduct hands-on training for the new recruitment.
- Responsible for spa employee’s weekly duty schedules and staff duty chart
- Monitor and review Spa employee’s performance regularly and provide required guidance.
- Hold regular staff meetings to keep staff up to date on all aspects of the Spa’s operation and Staff engagement.
OPERATIONAL DUTIES:
- Develop and maintain high standards and professional product program.
- Develop and maintain retail product program.
- Develop and implement spa policies and procedures to ensure smooth running of the spa and guest satisfaction.
- Manage Spa inventory effectively: ensure proper inventories of all operating Spa equipment are conducted in line with audit standards.
- Regularly monitor all equipment: ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations and maintain proper use and maintenance of spa property and equipment. Ensure all spa, health club and wellness equipment and areas are kept clean and maintained in good working order at all times.
- Ensure the guest experience at the spa area is relaxing and meet or exceed the hotels operating standards.
- Able to handle in person any guest complaints or special requirements.
- Able to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer appropriate options, solutions and resolutions.
- Responsible for reviewing all guest feedback results and implement improvements to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Able to upsell the spa and wellness programs.
- Able to implement and monitor up-selling strategies to maximise spa and health club operational revenue.
- Prepare annual budget and business Plan to ensure Spa operation is adequately represented.
- Work closely with other managers for the implementations of new services and strategies.
- Responsible to identify and target specific market segments for potential corporate clientele to promote Spa services.
- Responsible to develop strong product quality and treatment measures.
- Responsible to monitor and analyse the products and services of competitive Spas, to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Gather information and remain fully informed of local and international trends in Spa operations
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 to 5 year’s experience as a Spa Manager in a luxury hotel.
- Passionate about the Spa and Fitness world.
- Show genuine care about Staff.
- Positive attitude.
- Willing to deliver the best service and experience to our guests.
- Demonstrated strong leadership, team, and communication skills are essential.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Strong working knowledge of Spa, Membership and recreational software.
- Languages: Italian and English (other languages preferably).
