Reporting to – Quality Head

Job Summary:

 Responsible for ensuring that suppliers are supplying the parts as per specifications and implementing best practices that emphasize defect prevention, and reduction in variation in supplies.

Education – BE/Diploma in mechanical

Experience – Minimum 10 years experience in inspection with an understanding of the drawing, GD&T parameters, CMM reports, instrument handling and machining process.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Conduct supplier approvals/ audits, with supplier support and supplier advanced product quality planning (APQP).
• Preferably from a machining background
• Work with the Engineering team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
• Support new product launches to ensure suppliers deliver to the required quality standards.
• Conduct inspection at supplier end to ensure part manufactured as per desired specifications.
• Ensure Parts supplied by the supplier are checked by the supplier and accompanying required inspection report (documents)
• Coordinate with Inward inspection whenever required, In case of any quality issue coordinate with the supplier and resolve the same.
• Ensure supplier follows the required PPAP stages, validate the same at respective stages, and preserve.
• Conduct the root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality issues.
• Responsible for Open CAPA at the supplier, ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions and reduction in overall NC trend.
• Responsible for supplier quality performance.
• Review supplier manufacturing processes, and collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
• Conduct quality audits for suppliers and sub-suppliers where ever applicable (100% for special processes)
• Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management System.
• Conduct regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving part Quality.
