Role Description

Within the ambit of the role, you will be single handedly driving the Overall business charter . You will be responsible for the pricing and overall promotion of a product category to maximize consumer appeal. A Sr. Category manager will be given sole responsibility for creating realizable plans for the category and will thereby be expected to monitor and report any wins /gaps as far as growth objectives are concerned on the stated plans.

A Sr. Category manager must have experience in understanding consumer needs and the retail environment and must have a commercial mindset and full comprehension of marketing and sales principles.

Responsibilities will include

• Act as the ‘business owner’ for her/his categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact our business.
• Develop a comprehensive business plan.
• Have a thorough understanding of the industry, trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments
• Achieve budgeted profits and topline business.
• Manage inventory to maximize stock turns and monitor discounts/price grids across Category.
• Provide direction to buyers to plan product assortments.
• Put in place systems and processes to achieve customer centricity as a key value across all levels of the organization.
• Undertake focused market research and gather market intelligence.
• Implementation of Forecasting and replenishment systems.
• Oversee overall category plans in the areas of pricing, promotion, assortment and allocation for each sub-category.
• Monitor and review weekly performance of the category.
• Provide consistent direction and support to achieve stretch targets.
• Facilitate cross functional team working.

Preferences

• A Graduate from NIFT or any other top fashion school.
• Experience and Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a highly demanding and ambiguous environment
• 10-12 ears of experience in category management or related area
• Person with experience in  Ethnic category particularly in womens/mens/kids wear
• Previous experience in retail/ e-commerce.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skill
