My Client is building an on-demand entertainment platform that enables consumers to access relevant content at super-fast speeds. They set up their zones across Transport, Hospitality, Retail, Healthcare, and even Public Places so that everyone can enjoy high quality, buffer-free, on-demand entertainment - without being dependent on access to 4G or broadband.
Role - Sr. Database Engineer(DBA)

Location - Bangalore

Role Description :

- Define, implement and maintain multi-site MySQL, MongoDB, Hadoop, Kafka, Cassandra instances. Ensuring that it meets the business requirements and performance goals, creating weekly reports, creating and following up KPIs and KRAs.

Job Responsibilities :
- Reviews and understands data models and ensures those models are mapped effectively and efficiently into physical data models that take advantage of the characteristics of the specific database management system (DBMS).
- Creates automated systems to manage and monitor the storage requirements for database.
- Utilizes scripting, such as Bash and PowerShell, to automate the provisioning and maintenance of data platforms.
- Creates automated systems to monitor database performance and resource utilization, and devises solutions to enhance the performance and capacity of the systems.
- Collaborates with application programmers on the effective use of database languages; advise on troubleshooting, exception processing needs, and other data management issues.
- Creates automated systems to monitor and manage database security, backups, logs, and journals. Installs, maintains, and upgrades database software. Restores and/or recovers data as required.
- Mentors other database administrators and development teams on database best practices.
- Serves as the primary or backup on-call DBA for assigned projects and provides on-call support as needed.
- Provides SQL tuning and performance statistics feedback to development teams.
- Improves current DBMS knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Attributes :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or the equivalent through a combination of education and work experience.
- 7+ years' DBA experience with Relational Database Management Systems (MySQL Server) including database implementation, tuning, troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Strong desire for learning and growing database skills
- 4 years' experience automating data systems and platforms (DataOps).
- Experience in high transactional volume 1TB+ environments.
- Understanding of Non-Relational data technology and toolsets.
- Demonstrated mastery of SQL in a development and development support setting.
- 3 years' experience with ETL tool sets, preferably Hadoop.

Desired Skills and Attributes :
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 7+ years' experience with MySQL products
- 4-6 years' experience with logical and physical design, business analysis, and security procedures.
- 4-6 years' experience with industry standard operating systems (UNIX, MS Window, Linux).
- 1+ year experience with Kafka Elasticsearch, MongoDB, and/or Hadoop ecosystems.
