Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Static Design Engineer on behalf of our client in the oil and gas industry, based in Ras Al Khaimah. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in the design, analysis, and evaluation of static equipment, deep understanding of industry standards and proven experience in delivering engineering solutions across various industrial sectors, particularly oil & gas, petrochemical, and power industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, storage tanks, and reactors.
- Perform mechanical calculations and review of finite element analysis (FEA) for stress analysis, fatigue, buckling, and other integrity checks.
- Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, material requisitions, design reports, UDS & Material Technical Delivery Condition (TDC).
- Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, TEMA, PED, ISO).
- Review equipment drawings, layouts and MTO prepared by inhouse team and review of vendor documents/ drawings and coordinate for technical clarifications.
- Interface with clients, project managers, procurement teams, and vendors.
- Participation in ASME Recertification Audit for U Stamp, U2 Stamp & S Stamp, Client Audits, End User Audits & 3D Model Review.
- Conduct risk assessments, root cause analysis, and propose engineering solutions for design issues.
- Support fabrication and construction teams with technical guidance during the manufacturing and installation phases.
- Liaising with sub-vendors to ensure quality deliverables as per applicable code/specifications.
- Continuously monitor and improve design processes for better efficiency and quality.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and draftsmen as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10-12 years of hands-on experience in static equipment design.
- Strong knowledge of engineering software such as PV Elite, Compress, NozzlePRO, ANSYS, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
- In-depth understanding of static equipment fabrication and inspection requirements.
- Familiarity with project execution processes from FEED to detailed engineering and commissioning.
- Experience in static equipment manufacturing companies and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of 3D modelling and drafting tools such as AutoCAD and Navisworks is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
