JOB SUMMARY :
As an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Staff Physician, you’ll be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients in a top-tier hospital in Saudi Arabia, your primary responsibility is to provide expert medical care to critically ill patients in the ICU. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will be involved in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex medical conditions, utilizing advanced medical technologies and interventions. Your role includes monitoring patients closely, making timely decisions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality critical care. Additionally, you may participate in medical education and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the ICU, aligning with the hospital's commitment to excellence in critical care services.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- You’ll provide high-quality medical care to patients. This includes diagnosing illnesses, prescribing treatments, and managing patient health.
- Conduct thorough patient consultations, perform physical examinations, and order necessary diagnostic tests.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, pharmacists, and specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient management.
- Stay updated with the latest medical advancements and evidence-based practices in your field.
- Participate in daily rounds, discussing patient cases, treatment plans, and progress with colleagues.
- Monitor patient outcomes and adjust treatment as needed.
- Be prepared to handle medical emergencies, both in outpatient settings and emergency departments.
- Provide immediate care and stabilize critically ill patients.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for each patient encounter.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and legal requirements.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines, patient confidentiality, and cultural norms.
- Uphold professional standards and demonstrate empathy and compassion.
- Some hospitals may expect staff physicians to contribute to medical education by mentoring residents, interns, or medical students.
- Engage in clinical research or quality improvement projects.
- Stay informed about the latest medical literature, and attend conferences.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Medical Degree (MBBS) degree graduate from a recognized medical school.
- Master's Degree /Ph.D./MCPS/FCPS equivalent qualification in Intensive Care
- Membership and/or Fellowship status in Royal College or their equivalent and fulfilling the criteria for the Staff Physician as required
- Dataflow is a must.
Professional Experience
- + 5 years of experience after graduation.
- No years of experience requested post-Master’s or equivalent qualification.
Language
- Proficiency in English; additional proficiency in Arabic may be beneficial.
