Hiring: Staff Software Engineer – Variable Compensation Platform

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help build a next-generation AI-first Variable Compensation platform that transforms how organizations design, manage, and distribute performance-based pay at scale.

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of Finance, HR, Distributed Systems, AI, and Large-Scale Platform Engineering while solving highly complex technical and business challenges.

What You’ll Work On
• Architect and build internet-scale distributed systems handling millions of compensation payouts
• Design highly flexible rules engines supporting complex compensation structures
• Build resilient, high-availability financial systems with extreme accuracy requirements
• Develop AI-driven compensation workflows and explainability layers
• Design scalable APIs, workflow systems, orchestration engines, and ledgers
• Build streaming and analytical platforms for large-scale financial processing
• Drive observability, resiliency, and operational excellence across systems
• Mentor engineering teams and define technical best practices

• 9+ years of software engineering experience
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and scalable architecture
• Strong hands-on coding and technical leadership capabilities
• Experience designing high-availability and resilient systems
• Expertise in observability, streaming, and cloud-native platforms
• Strong mentoring and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Ability to thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
