Role details:
- Title / Designation: Talent Development Director
- Role type: IC (Individual Contributor)
- Reporting to: Head of Digital Engineering (VP)
- Location: Chennai
Role & responsibilities:
- Design enterprise-wide talent development (TD) strategy and roadmap, on a continual future-ready basis, aligned to and evolving with business needs
- Translate the TD roadmap into training programs
- Curate training programs, with detailed course curriculum, bespoke for the skill sets / competencies / solutions stacks in scope
- Steer decisions on execution of training programs for building capacity, capabilities and competencies, as a combination of in-house delivery and through external partnerships
- Promote and facilitate certifications to increase the number of certified professionals in the company
- Own all incidental activities and deliverables like Training Needs Analysis and Training Effectiveness Analysis, Enterprise Skills Inventory / Matrices, Talent Pipelines and suchlike, with a perspective on skilling, cross-skilling, up-skilling and reskilling
- Travel – as required – to other company locations and to campuses
Candidate requirements:
- 20 years of experience with about 10-12 years in technology delivery and about 10 years of recent experience in technology training
- Proficiency in one or more of Core Java / Java, QA, DevOps, Full Stack Development, Cloud (especially Microsoft Azure), AI & ML / Data Analytics – highly preferable
- Passion for talent development, from both company and people standpoint
- Ability to work with varied employee groups (Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z, Gen Alpha)
- Collaborative leadership – working with the business heads to devise relevant strategies
- Exemplary data analysis and data handling skills
- Program management
- Public speaking
- Highly skilled in problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiating and influencing
- Willingness to travel (about 10% or less) within country, to visit other office locations and campuses of educational institutions
