The Role
We seek a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager to lead tax planning and compliance efforts for our Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, focusing on the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The successful candidate will develop tax strategies, manage tax filings, and coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with local regulations and optimise tax outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Planning
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimise tax efficiencies for MENA and UAE entities
- Analyse tax implications of business activities and provide guidance and support on tax-related matters, including structuring of transactions, contract negotiations, business expansions, etc.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the company's tax position and adjusting strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and operations teams, to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions and initiatives
Tax Compliance
- Prepare and review tax filings, including VAT, corporate income tax, and other relevant tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and consultants to gather necessary information, review tax calculations, and address any tax-related inquiries or audits
- Maintain documentation and records to support tax filings and compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to local regulations and reporting requirements
- Implement best practices in tax management and leverage technology solutions to streamline workflows and optimise resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tax management or advisory roles, with a focus on the MENA region
- Proven track record in tax planning and compliance, with a deep understanding of local tax laws and regulations
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret tax regulations and provide strategic recommendations
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders
- Competent in a global working environment
- Fluency in English is required
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
