Key Responsibilities:
1) Project Tendering & Cost Estimation
- Lead and coordinate tender preparation for TBM tunneling projects.
- Conduct cost estimation, risk assessment, and technical documentation.
- Develop procurement strategies and manage relationships with TBM manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
2) Project Planning & Execution
- Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Manage the selection, procurement, assembly, and commissioning of Slurry TBM.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Optimize excavation performance and implement technical improvements.
3) Technical Oversight & TBM Operations
- Provide expert guidance on TBM operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Address complex geotechnical and hydrogeological challenges in tunneling.
- Work closely with site engineers, geologists, and TBM operators to improve efficiency.
4) Team Leadership & Coordination
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of TBM professionals, including engineers and operators.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Drive a culture of safety, quality, and efficiency.
5) Regulatory & Compliance Management
- Ensure adherence to local and international tunneling regulations.
- Manage project permits, inspections, and documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Oversee safety and environmental impact assessments.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 20+ years (Director level) of experience in TBM tunneling projects.
- Proven experience managing at least one TBM project with Slurry-Type TBM technology.
- Strong background in tendering, cost estimation, and contract execution.
- Knowledge of TBM manufacturers and global supply chains.
- Experience in managing teams and setting up TBM project teams.
- Familiarity with geotechnical studies, tunneling standards, and methodologies.
- CEE (Central & Eastern Europe) experience is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
