Primary: Software Expert for SAFE Energy 

Role:

The Software expert will be the technical lead for the software development for a new product group related to safe storage and provision of electrical energy. He will work in & with a team of SWengineers, acting as a product owner but also as a SW engineer to provide product in time, in budget and in quality to the product team in Mödling. His expertise will be required in all aspects of SW engineering starting from a “green field” but using the given SELECTRON tool chain with Mathworks and controller infrastructure. In his role he will interact closely, remotely & face to face, with product engineering in Austria and in Germany and with other TCI software developers.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership & guidance to the software engineers in the team.

• Act as the main interface to the SAFE energy project teams in Mödling

• Create/work with various levels of functional software requirements and software architectures

• Create technical software documentation within according to railway standards like EN50128 or EN50657.

• Create and work with engineering documents (like reports) according to in-house processes

• Manage & execute tasks in connection to change requests/ decisions.

• Perform and document software design reviews with peers and management

• Contribution to internal process improvement

• Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests

• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

• Set up and lead the qualified software development process

Education: BE/B.tech (Electronics) preferred or Open 

Technical Skills: 

• In depth software architecture knowledge on a controller and function level (covering various aspects of embedded SW

• Deep experience in modelling/coding of SW in MATLAB/SIMULINK

• Minimum 8 Years of experience in model-based software development

• Knowledgeable in automat. software testing

• Knowledgeable in SW testing tools / infrastructure

• Using a modern PLM system for document and code releases

• Office Applications (Microsoft Office 365) and Task tools (e.g. JIRA)

• Knowledge in agile product development (e.g. SCRUM@SCALE)

• Knowledge of PLC controller and the programming languages

• Experience in railroad / industrial applications with safety requirements 

• Experience in software coding and code review

Soft Skills: 

• Communication technologies Webtools like MS Teams

• Willingness to feel responsible for the product created

• English B2 – C1 minimal accent Target focus, “drive”, self-motivation
