Job Summary
Reports to: Senior Manager, Engineering Data Systems
Develops, writes, models (2D & 3D), and edits material for Owner’s Manuals, Pre-Delivery Instructions, Service Kits, Technical and Installation Instructions, Engineering Drawings, and related technical and administrative publications. Develop and release Service Parts and Kits for release to the Service Portals and Dealer Websites.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Owner’s Manuals & Pre-Delivery Instructions
• Create, edit, revise, and release all Owner’s Manuals, Pre-Delivery Instructions, according
to established schedules agreed with department manager. Collaborate with Engineering
and Product Marketing to ensure all new feature set(s) are incorporated with the correct
technical and safety information. Ensure Watkins standards are met in regards language,
clarity, conciseness, format, and terminology.
Service Parts & Kits
• Coordinate the development of all service and repair kits, purpose of kits, where used,
and contents of each kit, including packaging. Reviews proposed Change Orders (CO’s) to
determine the effect on existing product and ease of service.
2D & 3D Modelling
• Supports the Engineering Drafting function creating and/or updating CAD and/or 3D
models, utilizing AutoCad and SolidWorks to support new product development and
Engineering Change Order process.
Service Portal Data Administration
• Supports Service Portal Software Administrator and database efforts by developing
component diagrams, SolidWorks models, sketches, diagrams, service, installation,
and/or technical instructions, photographs, charts, and service parts while ensuring
accuracy and formatting for layout and optimal display on the Service Portals. Monitors
data output and various reports to ensure data structure and integrity.
Change Control
• Initiate requests for change in the proper format and providing clear and accurate
information to be processed through Configuration Control. Review all proposed COs
based on brand to determine the effect on existing products and ease of service.
Continuous Improvement
• Continuously research and benchmark against best practices in providing technical
information to consumers being in any shape or form, provided in the global market.
Present periodically (at least twice a year) benchmark findings and suggestions for
continuous improvement.
Must Have Skills
- Excellent English verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to use a computer for 8.5 hours per day.
- Proficient in AutoCad, PDM, SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) is essential. Proficient in MS Word; familiarity with Excel and Access.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as Bill of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, general business periodicals, professional journals, safety rules, technical procedures, government regulations, owner operating manuals, and service procedure manuals.
- Ability to write change orders, reports, business correspondence, and service manual and instructions.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and general public.
Education & Certifications
Must have Engineering degree.
