Job Description
Test Lead Role and Responsibilities:
- Devise the test objectives, organizational test policies, test strategies, and test plans in collaboration with the R&D team and other stakeholders.
- Estimate the testing to be done and negotiate with management to acquire the necessary resources.
- Plan, deploy and manage the testing effort within the context of each product release/delivery.
- Identify test automation opportunities, plan the effort, select the tools, and ensure the training of the team.
- Lead, guide, and monitor the analysis, design, implementation, and execution of the test cases, test procedures, and test suites.
- Ensure proper configuration management of the testware produced and traceability of the tests to the test basis.
- Make sure the test environment is put into place before test execution and managed during test execution.
- Schedule the tests for execution and then monitor, control, and report on the test progress, the product quality status, and the test results.
- Apply appropriate test measurements and metrics in the product and the test team.
- Periodically review test-suite and plan amendments in order to minimize the number of tests needing execution while maximizing coverage.
- Champion innovation by recognizing newly arising opportunities improving the time to run a test validation cycle.
- Collaborate with the R&D teams to create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria and ensure the acceptance tests reflect the desired functionality.
- Be an active contributor within the scrum, providing test input, supporting the scrum master and other scrum members and teams.
- Interact with product & project management and R&D teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives.
- Coordinate between onshore & offshore teams.
- Work with and comply with our integrated quality and security management system and SDLC.
- Contribute to the creation and enhancement of SOP's, test documentation and reporting that meets the standards of our quality and information security management systems.
- Other relevant tasks may be assigned by management from time to time.
Management Role and Responsibilities:
- Build up and lead the Testing Team to the success of projects.
- Assist in hiring, training & development of new test team members.
- Provide technical guidance and educate team members on test automation best practices and standards.
Required Experience for the Role:
- 7+ years of work experience in a similar development and/or testing role is essential.
- Significant experience working with a variety of SDLC models.
- Strong experience working with Agile methodologies e.g. Kanban, SCRUM.
- Proven experience to drive testing effort in complex projects for SaaS and hybrid cloud.
- Strong experience in working in regulated environments and industries.
- Experience working with Quality Management Systems e.g. ISO27001 or QMS.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate efficiently with the client, product, offshore/onshore teams, and bridge communication gaps.
- Experience working with test automation frameworks and tools.
- Good knowledge of CI/CD best practices and principles, frameworks, and tools.
- Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management.
- Able to work with different teams, prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
- Must be flexible, independent, adaptable and self-motivated.
- Complete all mandatory company training and job-specific training required for the role, including ISMS, GLP, DocuSign, SDLC as applicable.
Additional Experience in the following would be Advantageous:
- Java, Spring Boot, Docker & Kubernetes.
- Web Services & RESTful APIs.
- AWS Services & MongoDB Atlas.
- DirectX Graphics / Imaging Development.
- Previous experience working in a regulated environment.
Education / Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems or another related field is essential.
