Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
The EV Thermal Management System Engineer” will be Responsible for Design, Development, Analysis, Testing, and Validation of Thermal Management Systems for Electric Vehicles. This includes HVAC Systems, Battery Thermal Management, Refrigerant Circuits, Cooling Loops, and Control Logic etc.
The Role requires Strong Thermal Engineering fundamentals, Design & Testing experience, and ability to manage Cross-functional teams and Customers.
Core Skill Requirements:
1. Engineering Skills
1.1 Thermal System Development Know how
(i) Hands-on experience in EV Thermal Management Systems and Functional Components (E-Compressors, Chillers, Pumps, Valves, Sensors, Heat exchangers, Blower, Fans etc.).
(ii) In-depth knowledge of AC–Refrigerant circuit, Battery cooling systems, and their working principles.
(iii)Thermal system sizing, Performance evaluation, Energy optimization & Safety requirements.
(iv) Experience with BEV/ PHEV architectures & Thermal System Layout.1.2 System Controls & Diagnostics Know how
(i) Experience in Thermal System Control Logic, including:
Control strategies, Fail-Safe logic, and System-level integration & Electronics communication
(ii) Calibration of Control Constants for E-Compressors, Blower, Fans, Valves, Sensors, Pumps etc.
(iii) Exposure to LIN, CAN communication, Signal interpretation and DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)
1.3 Design & Thermal System Simulation Tools operation
Ability to work with Design and Thermal System Simulation tools such as:
(i) NX, CATIA, MATLAB & Simulink OR equivalent software.
(ii) Familiarity with Thermal System Design Simulation tools is an added advantage.
2. Testing/ Evaluation Skills
2.1 Thermal System & Component Evaluation
Hands-on experience in vehicle-level and bench-level testing for:
(i) HVAC systems, Battery cooling systems, Powertrain unit cooling, Thermal interfaces and ability to create Test plans, Execute tests, Analyse data, Validate performance as per requirements.
2.2 Testing Tools & Software Operation
Hands-on experience of industry-standard tools such as:
(i) INCA, ETAS modules, CAN Analysers, RAM Monitor, Oscilloscopes, FTR etc.
(ii) Experience with Data logging, Diagnostics, and Real-time Calibration
3. Management Skills
3.1 Project & Stakeholder Management
(i) Capable of managing end-to-end EV Thermal projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
(ii) Strong in Customer handling, including requirement negotiation, technical discussions & status reporting.
(iii) Team management skills for guiding subordinates and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
3.2 Quality Management
(i) Hands on Experience in Design reviews, Drawings, DRBFM, Root Cause Analysis of Market failures & Implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
(ii) Understanding of Global & India EV Thermal Regulations, Standards, and Best practices.
Communication & Collaboration
(i) Excellent communication skills to work effectively with teams in India and overseas, especially with Japan-based Engineering and Management teams.
(ii) Ability to prepare good Technical Document and Presentation.Benefits- Medical insurance
