Trade Finance Specialist

As a Trade Finance Specialist, you will be responsible for managing trade finance operations, ensuring efficient and compliant execution of trade finance activities. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and financial institutions to facilitate smooth trade transactions and mitigate financial risks. Your expertise in trade finance processes, documentation, and regulations will be essential in supporting our organization's financial objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Execute trade finance operations, including issuance, negotiation, and settlement of letters of credit (LCs), bank guarantees, and other trade-related instruments.
• Review and prepare accurate and compliant trade finance documents, such as LC applications, shipping documents, and bills of lading, in accordance with international trade rules and regulations.
• Ensure adherence to trade finance regulations, compliance requirements, and internal policies. Assess and mitigate financial and operational risks associated with trade finance activities.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with banks, financial institutions, and external service providers. Negotiate favorable terms and conditions for trade finance facilities and services.
• Analyze and evaluate the financial impact of trade finance transactions, including fees, charges, and interest rates. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Advise internal stakeholders on trade finance options, structures, and solutions to optimize working capital, reduce costs, and mitigate financial risks.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance trade finance processes, documentation, and systems. Implement improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
• Collaborate with various internal teams, including Sales, Procurement, and Supply Chain, to ensure smooth coordination and execution of trade finance activities.
• Prepare and present trade finance reports, metrics, and analysis to management. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of trade finance operations.
• Stay updated on trade finance industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices. Continuously enhance knowledge and skills related to trade finance and international trade.

Profile:

• University education in accounting, finance, or business. MBA is a plus
• Understanding of international business structure from a financial or trading perspective
• Accountancy qualification (CPA, ACCA, or CA)
• Minimum 4 years of Banking and Trading Finance experience
• Excellent command of English
• Experience in Oil & Gas Trade, Agriculture Trade is a plus
• International trade finance experience of Middle East and Asia is a plus.
