Trader Agricultural
As a trader you will be supporting an experienced trader, and to support his/her activities you will be responsible for administration and executing trades within assigned markets, supporting analysis of and managing market risks, and optimizing trading performance. You will work closely with the Desk Supervisor and other traders to develop and implement trading strategies and contribute to the growth and profitability of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of trades within assigned markets, ensuring compliance with trading limits and company policies.
- Contribute towards monitoring and managing market risk activities, including market, credit, and operational risks.
- Analyze market data and develop trading strategies to optimize trading performance.
- Collaborate with other traders and the Head of Trading to develop and implement trading strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with external counterparties, including brokers, banks, and other market participants.
- Stay informed of market developments, trends, and regulatory changes that could impact trading activities.
- Contribute to the growth and profitability of the company through successful trading and risk management.
- Update the available cargoes, monitor logistics and commercials and market status
- Negotiating the buying or selling prices at optimal levels and recap negotiations
- Interaction with all Trade inquiries
- Manage activities and administration of tenders, manage and support lead traders in purchase/sales orders, Recaps and contracts with ops and legal and finance, controlling shipping/ import/export documents.
- Follow up on any potential purchase and sales opportunities.
- Compile and analyze job market, trade statistics, and data to improve a trade marketing strategy
- Following up on all chain documents from suppliers in communication with the commercial officer
- Develop a strong Trading understanding as well as agricultural market knowledge
- Overseen PnL of the lead trader or product desk and report on the positions
- Ensure the smooth flow of trade activities e.g. suppliers’ side, logistics, forwarding, and customer’s side, from origin to destination in line with rules and regulation.
Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in energy and commodity trading (ideally from an Agricultural background), with a proven track record of successful trading performance and commercial acumen.
- Comprehensive understanding of agricultural, energy and commodity markets, including market structure, pricing dynamics, and trading strategies.
- Strong knowledge of domestic and international shipping laws and regulations
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze market data and develop trading strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with external counterparties and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced trading environment.
- Strong risk management skills, with the ability to identify and manage market, credit, and operational risks.
- Proficiency in trading and risk management software, such as Bloomberg, Reuters, or CTRM systems.
