Resource planning and management

• Oversee road crew on a day-to-day basis resolving issues and problems
• Resource and transport scheduling when required, in accordance with driver's hours to maximise utilisation of Company resources, ensuring all labour is used to its maximum efficiency
• Manage quality of crew paperwork completion, appearance, attitude, attendance, performance
• Setting targets, undertaking regular appraisals and dealing with absence and formal disciplinary matters
• Manage Subcontractor relationships and Agency contracts including service level agreements

Fleet management

• Ensure an efficient system exists for the regular maintenance of vehicles and equipment, making sure service and repair records are kept as per legal requirements
• FLT management
• Record and manage all vehicle accidents
• Ensure a weekly physical inspection of vehicles is undertaken to maintain condition of vehicles
• Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations - particularly those relating to transport Tacho and Vehicle servicing) and Health & Safety

Compliance

• Manage, audit and review compliance systems to ensure they are effective
• Responsible for ensuring that the Company complies with all relevant legislation, (transport, health and safety, employment, and any other applicable). Keep up to date and communicate relevant changes in standards and legislation.
• Responsible for driving license checks on a six-monthly basis, ensuring that drivers hold the appropriate entitlement for the vehicle they are driving

CPC holder is desirable but not essential.
