The role
As the web developer you will be responsible for maintaining and developing our suite of externally facing Umbraco based websites and associated forms that link with our on-premises CRM.
As well as maintaining and enhancing our existing sites, you will be helping to design and develop new portal sites to serve other areas of the business and will be a key member of any website projects.
Main responsibility
Working as a part of the Applications Team you will be the main point of contact for front end development, providing extensive Umbraco web development services, working in Microsoft ASP.NET, C#, MVC, SQL server and visual studio environments.
You will be responsible for delivering high quality portal sites that assist our stakeholders (including our members and fellows) in providing a smooth user experience (UX) and able to translate user requirements into a good online experience for stakeholders.
You will need to work well in an Agile team, which is often up against tight timescales and demonstrate excellent time management and flexibility in your work.
About you
You will be leading on the development of the Umbraco web solutions by meeting with stakeholders to gather their requirements and translating these to effective solutions. Working with the application and integration leads; assisting in the gathering and understanding of business requirements and goals as well as providing ongoing support and bug-fixing.
For web-based projects you will be involved in the end-to-end process of creating and designing web-based solutions. This includes creating user stories and wireframes, carrying out the front-end design and development work, implement front end integration with CRM, liaising with the team as well as solution providers and software vendors where appropriate.
You will need to manage your work effectively, create estimates, manage timelines, create documentation on the solutions, including guidance on technical maintenance of the site.
You will also be working with the rest of the applications team on support issues surrounding some of our legacy systems.
Your experience includes…
Essential
- Extensive knowledge and experience of using Umbraco CMS
- C#.net, asp.net (recent versions)
- Microsoft Visual Studio
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2012, etc.
- Experienced in development of. NET Content Managed (CMS) Websites
- Consuming and writing Web services (REST/SOAP), AJAX techniques
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of HTML 5 and CSS 3
- Razor and Javascript
- Good Written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Umbraco Expert or Umbraco Master certification
- Recent development experience with Umbraco 8, 9 or 10
- Practical experience with JQuery, Angular or similar
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (SDK, Developer toolkit, workflows and integration development)
- Implementation of SSO using OpenID connect (OAuth 2)
