Responsibilities:
- Utilise your expertise in underwriting within the context of Islamic insurance to evaluate insurance applications, assess risks, and determine appropriate coverage.
- Conduct thorough analysis of policy documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent underwriting decisions and maintain a high level of quality.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries and resolving underwriting-related issues.
- Demonstrate proficiency in evaluating and handling complex claims, ensuring timely and accurate resolution within the framework of Islamic principles.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in underwriting, continuously improving your knowledge and skills.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of underwriting guidelines and procedures to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions, sharing knowledge, insights, and contributing to the success of the underwriting team.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and risk management, to support business objectives and deliver comprehensive insurance solutions.
- Train, manage, and mentor junior team members and graduates, leveraging your experience to support their growth and development within the organization.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting within the insurance industry.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably in Insurance, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- RE qualified.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as contribute effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
