The role
The VP Marketing and Sales reporting to the CEO will play a critical role in the creation of a first-class marketing and sales team, the launch of the business and leverage their strategic marketing experience and business acumen to drive brand awareness, pipeline and revenue, initially focussing on Europe and then globally.
The position requires a bold, ‘lead from the front’, leader who will bring with them experience driving a disruptive value proposition that will bring the company into the C-suite of customers and will be able to drive large energy industry deals at a high value and margin. Subsequently the successful candidate will also drive programmatic approaches to instil a high level of confidence and consistency within the marketing and sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and develop the marketing and sales teams as the revenue and international presence grows
- Lead and own the creation and execution of the go-to-market marketing plan for direct (and partner/channel sales as appropriate and as the business evolves) to impact revenue, retention, and brand awareness
- Analyse & understand the sales life cycles and customer segmentation to formulate winning strategies and approaches to optimise the selling process across different industry segments
- Lead and own the growth in revenue of the different solution portfolio elements initially in Europe and then globally, rapidly scaling revenue and develop a high-quality pipeline for meet and exceed company business targets.
- Manage monthly, quarterly and annual planning activities including forecasting, pipeline management and effectiveness to achieve short term and long-term growth targets
Candidate Requirements
- Proven track record as a successful sales leader in overachieving targets in multi-million-dollar digital solution sales in energy or industrial competitive environments, leading marketing and sales including business development, pre-sales, customer success
- Experience in successfully selling directly to corporate clients and developing best-in-class channel partners.
- Demonstrated experience in C-Level technology solution & competitive selling
- A strategic, creative mindset with experience in market analysis and planning.
- Able to develop, clearly articulate and seamlessly execute a strategic vision
- Possesses key assertive leadership attributes: highly collaborative and team orientated, strong personal conviction, vision, strong emotional bonds, inspirational, ability to drive a team to excel and be able to have difficult conversations when the team is not performing
- A fast learner with a proven ability to adapt in real time in a fast-changing environment
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity, with an entrepreneurial outlook and a track record of exploring new ways of working
- Strong communications skills, both written and oral, ability to present at senior level
- The ability to think and act independently and exhibit consistently sound business judgment and an action-oriented ability to take measured risks and take responsibility for the consequences
- Undergraduate University degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or Economics. An MBA is considered a major plus.
- Ready to travel internationally for up to 50% of the time to be in front of customers
- Be based mostly in the Amsterdam region. Relocation/hybrid will be considered.
- Must have a valid European resident and work status.
