The VP of Engineering will be responsible for hiring and retaining excellent engineering talent at all levels and creating a high-performance culture through mentoring engineering leaders at Director and Manager levels.
This leader will collaborate closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) & peers to develop software development rigor, bring the latest software development methodology, and build the necessary organizational capabilities to meet the growing business needs for KNA.
This leader will contribute to building executive-level strategy and help break down business directives into technology goals while highlighting engineering alignment with business strategy.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Lead and develop a world-class software engineering team. The ideal candidate will be a magnet and developer of exceptional talent who motivates teams to exceed expectations.
- Provide effective stewardship of the engineering planning process, appropriately balancing data-driven analysis with transparent decision-making to enable a faster product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Operations, Security Operations, and Software Reliability Engineering leaders to define and provide a cohesive leadership message and operational strategy. Provide hands-on software development technical expertise required to guide and lead the team of developers.
- Improve engineering development approaches and processes to increase the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the engineering organization. Ensure compliance with software development standards, and implement Lean-Agile development processes with particular attention to software quality.
- Lead the engineering team to foster innovation and translate the product roadmap into clear development priorities, implementable architectures, and timely release planning of core software technologies required to ensure business growth.
- Establish and regularly communicate KPIs and metrics that help measure product application stability and performance, quality of overall software solutions, and engineering team productivity.
- Hold the software development teams accountable for executing best practices and overall solution quality and performance. Drive a culture of technical excellence, customer intimacy, delivery, and accountability.
- Recruit, train, and develop a "best-in-class" software engineering team to meet current and future portfolio needs.
- Establish external partnerships that allow immediate expertise support and scalability. Effectively manage external business partners and build a working model to allow flexible resourcing based on the business needs.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities following the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and developing employees; planning, assigning, directing work; appraising performance; addressing concerns.
- Hybrid Schedule: 3 days remote / 2 days in the office
- 30-day notification period preferred
