Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Manage distribution of parts and stock to multiple locations within the UK
- Provide monthly audits and inventory checks within the warehouse
- Build relationships with suppliers and ensure costs are controlled
- Control inventory levels by conducting physical stock counts and reconciling with the stock system
- Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner for stock and goods in/out
- Competent with handling goods, loading, and unloading vehicles and packing/picking or unpacking pallets
- Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained at all times within the warehouse and external areas of the building
- Develop and train warehouse operatives
- Maintain staff morale and good inter-company relationships with other departments
- Ultimately responsible and accountable for warehouse operations including Health & Safety
- Attend daily team briefs and other internal meetings as required
- Deal with reactive client and supplier queries
- Review processes, procedures, and documentation for continuous improvement
- Check invoices values against Purchase Order and ensure all expenditure is accounted for within the company's IT system
- Telecommunications
- Ensure all warehouse staff and activities are compliant with appropriate health & safety standards
- Promote a highly efficient pick and pack process, assisting when required and during peak periods
- Daily Reports & Equipment Check
- Daily Deliveries, collections, and distribution
- Trustworthy and honest
- Any other tasks as required but not limited to those above
Key Role Requirements
- Previous experience working in a similar role and environment, preferably within the construction industry
- Proactive and solutions focused is essential
- Logical and strategic thinking
- Knowledge of 3PL would be advantageous
- Full and valid UK Driving Licence
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Good IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Good numerical skills
- Good commercial awareness
- Good Health & Safety knowledge of warehouse and understanding of both Risk & Method Statements (RAMS) for Warehouse Activities and COSHH. You will need to collate and store relevant Data Safety Sheets
- Ability to communicate and conduct oneself in a clear, diplomatic, and authoritative manner
- Valid Forklift Counterbalance Licence
