A well-established international shipping organization with a strong operational footprint is seeking a Marine Safety & Compliance Superintendent to join its shore-based team in Limassol — one of the Mediterranean’s most dynamic and internationally oriented maritime centres.
The role in practice:
This position plays a key role in the effective implementation and monitoring of safety and quality management systems both onboard and ashore. The role blends office-based responsibilities with audits, investigations, and worldwide vessel exposure.
• Implement and monitor the International Safety Management (ISM) Code onboard and ashore
• Ensure compliance with ISM, TMSA / DryBMS, ISO standards, and the company’s Safety Management System
• Conduct internal audits and follow up on corrective and preventive actions
• Lead and participate in incident and accident investigations
• Carry out vessel visits, assessments, and audits worldwide, as required
Your Profile:
• Deck Officer background or a University Degree in Marine Engineering
• Previous experience in a safety, quality, or compliance role (shore-based or seagoing)
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISM, ISPS, and internal auditing processes
• High standards of professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail
• Strong communication and report-writing skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and act with initiative
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Flexibility to travel internationally at short notice
