Financial and Business Controller
Our client is a leading international service company with operations across multiple countries, delivering high-quality solutions to a diverse portfolio of corporate clients. As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Financial and Business Controller to become a trusted financial business partner, supporting strategic decision-making and driving sustainable business performance.
As Financial and Business Controller, you will play a key role in monitoring and improving the financial performance of the local business. You will provide valuable insights to senior management, challenge performance where appropriate, and support the achievement of strategic and financial objectives through data-driven analysis and recommendations.
Working closely with both finance and operational leaders, you will transform financial data into meaningful business insights, ensuring accurate reporting, high-quality forecasting, and informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with Country Management to drive financial performance and support strategic decision-making
Contribute to the development of long-term business strategies and financial plans
Provide actionable recommendations based on financial and operational analysis to improve business performance
Monitor financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and strategic objectives
Develop financial and variance analysis to support management decisions and provide clear insights into business performance
Deliver meaningful management reporting with clear commentary on trends, opportunities, and potential risks
Support pricing decisions for strategic and high-value customer opportunities
Conduct customer profitability and commercial performance analyses
Identify opportunities to improve margins, operational efficiency, and overall business profitability
Ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting
Collaborate closely with regional finance teams, centralized finance functions, and local accounting partners to ensure high-quality financial data
Support monthly closing activities by providing financial analysis and business insights
Assist with VAT, tax reporting, statutory reporting, and audit processes while ensuring compliance with local legislation and company policies
Act as the primary finance contact for internal and external audits where required
Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting, planning, and business processes
Strengthen financial controls and support the implementation of best practices across the organization
Participate in regional and global finance projects aimed at enhancing business performance and operational excellence
Desired Experience Skills and Qualifications:
University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
3-5 years of experience in Business Controlling, FP&A, Commercial Finance, Finance Business Partnering, or a similar finance role within an international service organization
Strong financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling experience
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into practical business recommendations
Solid commercial understanding of revenue drivers, profitability, pricing, and business performance
Good knowledge of financial reporting, local regulatory requirements, and audit processes
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence decision-makers across the business
A proactive, collaborative, and continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to see the bigger picture and thrive in a dynamic international environment
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems and Business Intelligence tools
Fluency in both English and Bulgarian
