Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Head / Head – Human Resources to lead the Human Resources function for our manufacturing facility in Pune. The role will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with business objectives while ensuring smooth management of manpower, employee relations, statutory compliance, talent acquisition, performance management, learning & development, and organizational culture.
The HR Head will act as a strategic business partner to the Plant Leadership Team and play a critical role in building a productive, compliant, and high-performance workforce to support the company's growth and export-oriented manufacturing operations.
The final designation will be based on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, and current profile.
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Business Partnership
Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organizational goals and manufacturing business requirements.
Partner with Plant Head and functional leaders to drive workforce planning and organizational effectiveness.
Build HR systems, policies, and processes to support business growth and operational excellence.
Act as a trusted advisor to management on people-related matters.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
Lead recruitment activities for plant operations, engineering, maintenance, quality, supply chain, and support functions.
Develop manpower planning and budgeting in line with production expansion plans.
Ensure timely hiring of operators, technicians, supervisors, engineers, and managerial talent.
Build a strong recruitment pipeline through consultants, job portals, technical institutes, and industry networks.
Manage onboarding and induction programs for new employees.
Employee Relations & Industrial Relations (IR)
Maintain harmonious employee and industrial relations across the manufacturing facility.
Address employee grievances and disciplinary matters in a fair and timely manner.
Ensure effective communication between management and employees.
Handle employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment.
Support management in managing workforce issues and maintaining operational stability.
Experience in dealing with contract labour and shop-floor workforce management will be preferred.

Ensure full compliance with all applicable labour laws and statutory regulations, including:

Shops & Establishment requirements (where applicable)
Coordinate statutory inspections and audits.
Maintain all statutory records, registers, licenses, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with employment-related policies and legal requirements.
Performance Management
Design and implement performance management systems and processes.
Drive goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development planning.
Support leadership in identifying and developing high-potential employees.
Promote a performance-driven culture throughout the organization.
Learning & Development
Identify training needs across functions and levels.
Develop annual training calendars for technical, behavioural, safety, and leadership development programs.
Facilitate skill development initiatives for operators, supervisors, and managerial staff.
Promote continuous learning and capability-building across the organization.
Compensation & Benefits
Manage compensation benchmarking and salary structures.
Ensure accurate and timely payroll coordination.
Administer employee benefits, incentives, rewards, and recognition programs.
Support annual compensation review and budgeting processes.
Employee Engagement & Culture Building
Drive employee engagement, welfare, and retention initiatives.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Organize employee communication forums, celebrations, and engagement programs.
Conduct employee satisfaction and feedback surveys.
HR Operations & Administration
Oversee employee lifecycle management from hiring to separation.
Maintain HRMIS and employee records.
Ensure smooth execution of HR operations, attendance management, leave administration, and documentation.
Develop and implement HR policies, SOPs, and employee handbooks.
HR Analytics & Reporting
Monitor and report key HR metrics including:
Headcount
Attrition
Recruitment Status
Training Effectiveness
Employee Engagement
Absenteeism
Overtime Trends
Provide management with actionable HR insights and recommendations.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Qualifications
MBA / PGDM in Human Resources, Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, or equivalent.
Master's Degree in Human Resources Management preferred.
Additional certifications in Labour Laws, Industrial Relations, HR Analytics, or Organizational Development will be advantageous.
Experience
12–20+ years of progressive HR experience.
Minimum 5 years in a senior HR leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
Experience in Textile, Non-Woven, FMCG, Packaging, Engineering, Pharma, Medical Products, or process manufacturing industries preferred.
Strong exposure to plant HR, labour laws, industrial relations, and workforce management.
