About the Role
We is looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager who can own the entire technology delivery function. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will translate business strategy into engineering execution, lead a cross-functional team of 15+ developers and testers, and serve as the single point of contact for all technology inputs across Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Management.
This is not a pure people-management role. We need someone who can read code, review architectures, debug production issues when needed, and make pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions—while also running sprint planning, removing blockers, and keeping stakeholders informed with clear, timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Delivery
• Own end-to-end delivery of product features across mobile (Flutter), web (React), and backend (NestJS/Prisma) workstreams
• Break down CTO’s vision and product roadmap into executable sprints with clear ownership, timelines, and acceptance criteria
• Run agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retros) and maintain delivery velocity with minimal tech debt accumulation
• Drive release planning, manage environments (dev/test/staging/prod), and own deployment pipelines on AWS
Technical Hands-On & Architecture
• Participate in code reviews, architecture decisions, and system design for critical modules
• Ensure sound architectural patterns across the stack: NestJS microservices, Prisma ORM, PostgreSQL/MySQL, Flutter, React
• Oversee integration of payment gateways, third-party APIs, and custom AI/GenAI models into production workflows
• Champion engineering best practices: CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and alerting
AI & Data
• Collaborate with data and AI teams to integrate custom AI models and GenAI capabilities into products
• Oversee data warehousing architecture and Power BI reporting pipelines for business intelligence
• Ensure data quality, governance, and timely availability of analytics for leadership decision-making
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting
• Act as the single go-to person for all technology inputs required by Marketing, Sales, and other departments
• Translate non-technical requirements into actionable engineering tasks without losing intent
• Provide timely, structured reports to the management team on team performance, project status, risks, and engineering KPIs
• Facilitate innovation by encouraging out-of-the-box thinking, hackathons, and rapid prototyping of new ideas
People Management
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 15+ developers and QA engineers across multiple skill levels
• Drive hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and career development conversations
• Build a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous learning, and psychological safety
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications
• 8–12 years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or engineering management role
• Strong hands-on proficiency in at least two of: NestJS/Node.js, React, Flutter/Dart
• Deep experience with AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudWatch, API Gateway)
• Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), ORM tools (Prisma), and query optimization
• Experience integrating payment gateways (Razorpay, PayU, or equivalent) and third-party APIs
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Git branching strategies, and release management
• Proven ability to manage teams of 10+ engineers and deliver projects on schedule
• Excellent communication skills—ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong understanding of Firebase (FCM, Auth, Firestore) for mobile backend services
• Experience with Redis/Valkey for caching, Celery/BullMQ for async task processing
• Knowledge of microservices patterns: event-driven architecture, CQRS, saga orchestration
Good-to-Have Skills
• Experience with custom AI/ML model deployment and GenAI integration (LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines)
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, data warehousing (Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake), and ETL pipelines
• Background in agriculture-tech, supply-chain, or B2B/B2C e-commerce domains
