Job Summary
We are looking for a Finance Manager to lead end-to-end finance operations, statutory compliance, and financial planning for our copper manufacturing/trading business. The role owns the full accounting function, drives MIS and decision support for leadership, and manages commodity-specific financial complexity — hedging, forex exposure, and import cost structures unique to the copper trade.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Control
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations — books of accounts, ledger scrutiny, bank reconciliations
• Own month-end and year-end closing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Review and approve vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and other payables
• Oversee accounts receivable — credit control, collections, and customer reconciliations
• Establish and monitor internal financial controls and SOPs
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
• Ensure timely and accurate GST filings (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns) and reconciliations
• Oversee TDS compliance — computation, deduction, deposit, and returns
• Manage income tax assessments, advance tax planning, and tax audit finalization
• Ensure compliance with customs duty, import regulations, and other statutory requirements applicable to raw copper/scrap procurement
• Liaise with tax consultants, statutory auditors, and regulatory authorities
Financial Planning, Reporting & MIS
• Prepare and present MIS reports, budgets, and variance analysis to leadership
• Drive annual budgeting and periodic forecasting
• Finalize financial statements as per Schedule III (Companies Act) and support statutory audit closure
• Provide financial analysis and decision support for pricing, procurement, and capital expenditure decisions
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and fund management
Commodity & Treasury Management
• Manage forex exposure and hedging strategy for copper import purchases in coordination with banks/treasury desks
• Track copper price movements (LME/MCX) and their impact on costing, inventory valuation, and margins
• Oversee landed cost computations — customs duty, freight, and insurance on imported raw material
• Manage banking relationships — LC, BG, working capital limits, and renewals
Team & Stakeholder Management
• Lead and mentor the accounts/finance team, including reviewing work of accounts executives
• Partner with commercial, purchase, and operations teams on cost and pricing decisions
• Present financial performance and risk updates to senior management/directors
• Drive process improvements and ERP/system enhancements
Candidate Requirements
• CA / CMA / MBA Finance / M.Com (CA preferred for senior end of experience band)
• 5–15 years of relevant experience, with at least 3–4 years in a manufacturing or trading company; commodity/metals sector experience strongly preferred
• Strong command over GST, TDS, Companies Act compliance, and financial statement finalization
• Working knowledge of Tally/SAP/ERP systems and advanced MS Excel
• Prior exposure to forex hedging, import documentation, or commodity price risk management preferred
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
