QMS & Compliance Drive compliance with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements and applicable statutory/regulatory requirements. Lead internal, customer and certification audit readiness. Ensure effective CAPA and timely closure of audit findings. Strengthen risk-based and preventive Quality management. 3. Customer Quality Own the overall Customer Quality strategy, including customer PPM, complaints, rejections, returns, scorecards and quality ratings. Lead critical customer complaints and escalations using 8D and structured RCA. Drive reduction in customer complaints, PPM and field failures. Build strong relationships with customer Quality and Engineering teams and support customer audits. 4. Supplier Quality Drive supplier Quality performance, Supplier PPM and corrective-action effectiveness. Lead supplier audits, process assessments, APQP/PPAP and supplier capability improvement. Work closely with SCM/Procurement on high-risk suppliers and improvement plans. Ensure effective corrective and preventive actions at supplier locations. 5. R&D / Design Quality Embed Quality requirements throughout the product development lifecycle. Establish Quality gates covering design, prototype, validation, industrialization and production. Review DFMEA, product risks, design specifications, engineering changes and validation plans. Drive Design-for-Quality and Design-for-Manufacturability in collaboration with R&D and Engineering. Ensure customer and field-quality learnings are incorporated into future product development. 6. New Product Development – APQP / PPAP Lead Quality involvement in NPD and ensure effective APQP deployment. Ensure timely completion and review of PFMEA/DFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC and PPAP. Establish Quality gates through prototype, pilot, launch and SOP stages. Drive first-time-right product launches and timely customer PPAP approvals. 7. Process, Product & Manufacturing Quality Drive improvement in FPY, rework, scrap, internal defects and process variation. Strengthen incoming, in-process and final Quality controls. Ensure adherence to Control Plans, approved process parameters and reaction plans. Promote SPC, Poka-Yoke, process capability, traceability and defect-prevention practices. Partner with Operations and Engineering to eliminate recurring manufacturing defects. 8. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement Establish a structured problem-solving framework using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto and RCA. Review major internal, customer and supplier Quality issues. Drive Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma and Poka-Yoke initiatives across plants. Track measurable improvements in defects, FPY, scrap, rework, customer PPM and Quality cost. 9. Warranty & Field Quality Drive product reliability and customer satisfaction through effective field-failure analysis. Monitor warranty claims, field failures and major failure modes. Lead cross-functional investigations and corrective actions. Ensure field-quality learning is incorporated into product design, processes and control plans. 10. Quality Cost & Digitalization Monitor and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) across plants. Track scrap, rework, rejection, warranty and customer-failure costs. Drive digitization of Quality reporting, dashboards, traceability and performance monitoring. Use Quality analytics to identify trends, recurring issues and emerging risks. 11. People & Leadership Lead, coach and develop Plant Quality Heads/Managers and specialist Quality teams. Build organizational capability in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D, auditing and structured problem solving. Develop internal auditors, technical specialists and future Quality leaders. Establish succession plans for critical Quality positions. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate should have: 15–20 years of experience in Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Customer Quality, Supplier Quality, QMS and/or Operational Excellence. •Responsible for driving the foundational and thematic initiatives as per the global OE framework and the Long range plan. Should work closely with the core OE team and the leadership to refine the initiatives and approach in LRP, to help address the key business challenges. •Should be able to define, refine and program manage the thematic initiatives i.e. OEE improvement, OTIF improvement, COPQ reduction, LSS WB/YB/GB/BB certification etc •Should be open to the special requirements to support any key challenge and add to the current program, in discussion with the manager. Should take regular opportunities for a step back view on the development and challenges against the key imperatives, and induce enhancement in the OE LRP accordingly. •Should partner with the other OE team members to cohesively drive the key OE program and agenda. •Ensure the business and site imperatives/KPIs are achieved through the DMS as an overarching program. •Should partner with the site OE leads to facilitate the strategy deployment process effectively and efficiently, towards the objective of Zero Defects, Zero Deterrents, Zero Harm, and Zero Waste.
