Head of Business Development – Europe | HVAC Location: Bucharest, Romania, or another relevant European market Industry: HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Climate Solutions) Travel: Frequent international travel required About the Role We are seeking an experienced Head of HVAC Business Development, Europe to lead the growth and expansion of a regional HVAC business across Eastern and Central Europe, with opportunities to enter additional European markets. This is a strategic leadership opportunity for a commercially driven professional with strong HVAC industry knowledge, a proven track record in business development, and experience managing regional operations, building teams, and negotiating with international manufacturers. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the European HVAC growth strategy, expanding market share, strengthening distribution and partner networks, and driving sustainable revenue growth and profitability, of course supported by an established customer base, commercial infrastructure, and logistics capabilities. Key Responsibilities Business Strategy & Growth Define and implement the European HVAC business development strategy, aligned with long-term growth and profitability objectives. Accelerate revenue growth by strengthening market penetration, increasing market share, and identifying new business opportunities. Develop and execute country-specific commercial plans, adapting strategies to local market conditions. Identify opportunities to expand the business into new Central, Eastern, and Western European markets. Drive cross-selling initiatives, portfolio development, and customer acquisition. Commercial Leadership & Financial Performance Take ownership of the HVAC business's commercial performance, revenue growth, and profitability, including P&L management. Establish business objectives, budgets, sales targets, and performance indicators. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities for sustainable growth. Implement effective sales processes and performance management practices across regional operations. International Partnerships & Supplier Management Build and maintain strategic relationships with leading international HVAC manufacturers and technology suppliers. Lead negotiations on commercial terms, pricing, product availability, and strategic partnerships at regional or group level. Develop a competitive product portfolio covering key HVAC technologies, including heat pumps, air conditioning, and energy-efficient climate solutions. Identify new suppliers, technologies, and partnership opportunities that strengthen the business's market position. Market Development & Partner Networks Expand and strengthen relationships with installers, engineering consultants, designers, distributors, contractors, and service providers. Develop strategic sales channels and regional partner networks to support long-term growth. Improve partner engagement through technical support, product training, and high-quality after-sales services. Build strong relationships with key accounts and strategic customers across multiple markets. Leadership & Organizational Development Assess existing capabilities and develop an effective regional HVAC organizational structure. Build and develop local commercial teams in the relevant countries. Recruit, lead, coach, and mentor local managers and commercial professionals. Establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, performance, and continuous improvement. Work closely with local country leadership to align regional strategy with country-level business objectives. Digital Transformation & Process Improvement Modernize commercial processes and improve sales effectiveness through digital tools and technology-enabled solutions. Introduce digital quotation tools, data-driven decision-making, and AI-enabled applications where appropriate. Standardize best practices and develop scalable processes across regional markets. Key Objectives Deliver year-on-year revenue growth, subject to market conditions and agreed business plans. Accelerate growth in the established Romanian market while developing regional operations. Strengthen the business across Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, and the Republic of Moldova, with potential expansion into additional markets. Develop a scalable regional HVAC business. Improve profitability, expand strategic partnerships, and establish a strong commercial presence across Europe. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate combines technical understanding of the HVAC industry with strong commercial leadership and entrepreneurial business-building capabilities. Essential Requirements University degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field. At least 7 years of professional experience in the HVAC industry or a closely related technical sector. At least 3 years of leadership experience in a senior commercial or general management position, such as General Manager, Commercial Director, Business Unit Head, or Country Manager. Demonstrated success in business development, revenue growth, market expansion, and commercial channel development. Experience managing business performance, budgets, and P&L responsibilities. Proven experience negotiating and developing partnerships with international HVAC manufacturers. Strong understanding of HVAC technologies, distribution models, and industry dynamics. Experience leading teams and coordinating business activities across multiple countries. Fluency in English. Willingness and availability to travel frequently across regional and international markets. Preferred Qualifications Experience in Central and Eastern European markets. Existing relationships with HVAC manufacturers, distributors, installers, and engineering partners. Experience scaling a regional business or expanding into new international markets. Familiarity with digital sales tools, CRM systems, AI-enabled commercial solutions, and process automation. Knowledge of additional European languages. Location & Mobility The preferred base is Bucharest, Romania, although qualified candidates based in other relevant European markets may also be considered. Relocation to Bucharest is not necessarily required for candidates based elsewhere. The role involves regular travel to regional markets, customers, manufacturers, and business partners, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 40–50% during the initial year. Candidates with relevant experience in Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Germany, and other European HVAC markets are encouraged to apply. Compensation & Benefits The compensation package will be tailored to the candidate's experience, qualifications, and overall suitability for the role. It is expected to include: Fixed salary: EUR 4,000 to 6,000 net per month, depending on profile. CIM or B2B both forms accepted Variable component: a performance-based scheme linked to turnover and profitability targets will be discussed. [TBD] Company car.
