Key Responsibilities Audit & Technical Quality Take responsibility for assigned audit engagements and audit sections, from planning through to completion. Analyze financial statements, including cash flow statements and accompanying notes, for both individual and consolidated accounts. Perform audit procedures across a range of financial statement areas, including: Cash and cash equivalents, Property, plant and equipment, Equity, Receivables, Prepayments, Payables, Loans and borrowings, Other income and expenses, Intangible assets, Investments, Inventory, Provisions, Revenue, Cost of sales Prepare preliminary analytical reviews at financial statement line-item level, considering both absolute and relative movements. Document the design, implementation and operating effectiveness of controls, including entity-level, revenue, purchasing, payroll, financial reporting, inventory and investment controls. Prepare risk assessment documentation for assigned engagements. Prepare completion documentation and ensure audit files are complete and properly supported. Use Caseware to prepare and maintain audit working papers and archive support documentation. Use Excel and IDEA to prepare audit working papers and perform analysis where required. Identify inconsistencies or unusual items in the information analysed, investigate them and assess potential explanations before escalating matters to senior team members. Ensure all working papers are detailed, complete, properly referenced, traceable to the audit file and supported by appropriate evidence. Keep up to date with relevant changes in accounting, auditing, tax and other legislation and apply them appropriately to client engagements. Team Leadership & Development Act as a role model and source of guidance for junior and assistant auditors. Provide coaching and support to less experienced team members. Delegate appropriate tasks when responsible for less complex engagements. Demonstrate strong teamwork and contribute positively to the wider audit team. Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and proactively communicate any risks, delays or deviations from the agreed plan. Client & Stakeholder Management Develop professional and positive relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
