Position: Associate Controller – Global Consolidation
Location: Baner, Pune, India

Company - A key manufacturer and supplier of advanced automotive catalysts and emission control technologies for diesel and gasoline vehicles.
Role - The Associate Controller – Global Consolidation will be responsible for supporting global financial consolidation, reporting, and financial control processes for an international business unit. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, intercompany reconciliation, monitoring of global SG&A costs, and collaboration with IT and global finance teams to improve financial systems, reporting efficiency, and data quality.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Unit Closing & Reporting
- Support monthly financial consolidation and closing activities for the global business unit.
- Ensure accuracy of key financial KPIs such as Revenue, Contribution Margin, EBITDA, Capex, Capital Employed, and Free Cash Flow.
- Review IFRS financials of global entities and identify incorrect postings or inconsistencies.
- Coordinate corrective actions with corporate finance and regional finance teams.
- Assist in preparing monthly group reporting packages and management reports.
- Maintain regional adjustments and ensure consistency of financial reporting across regions.
- Manage global provisions, accrual tracking, and reporting during half-year and year-end close cycles.
- Coordinate top-side postings and ensure timely processing in SAP.
2. Intercompany Transaction Monitoring
- Monitor intercompany postings and perform reconciliations for transactions such as trading goods, tolling services, licenses, and internal services.
- Identify incorrect transfer pricing settings or markup postings and coordinate corrections with local finance teams.
- Validate contribution margin calculations and support the development of standardized global methodologies.
3. Data Quality & Financial Systems
- Ensure data consistency across financial systems including SAP, controlling tools, and reporting platforms.
- Coordinate data corrections with IT and controlling teams.
- Support adoption of financial reporting dashboards and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Monitor system enhancement requests and ensure timely implementation.
- Support transformation initiatives focused on KPI-based reporting and advanced analytics.
4. Global SG&A Cost Monitoring
- Act as finance business partner to monitor global IT spend and departmental cost centers.
- Review cost center expenditures with department heads and track investment progress.
- Monitor global travel costs and other SG&A expenditures.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved financial discipline.
- Ensure proper accounting of corporate charges within financial systems.
5. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting cycles for global functions.
- Validate consolidated corporate cost allocations and ensure accurate reporting.
- Monitor plan vs. actual variances during half-year and year-end closing.
- Support forecasting simulations and working capital planning.
6. Process Optimization & Digitalization
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and financial closing processes.
- Support automation of financial reporting using Power BI, analytics tools, and AI-driven solutions.
- Assist in standardizing financial processes across global regions.
7. Internal Controls & Audit Support
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and corporate policies.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Procurement on finance-related initiatives.

Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance / Commerce
- Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, CMA or equivalent preferred
Experience
- 8+ years of experience in finance, controlling, or financial reporting
- Experience working in global or multinational manufacturing organizations preferred
- Strong exposure to SAP and global financial reporting frameworks (IFRS)
Technical Skills
- Financial consolidation and reporting
- Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- IFRS accounting standards
- SAP and financial reporting systems
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with Power BI or data analytics tools is preferred
