About Mr Baseer

Mr. Baseer brings over two decades of comprehensive experience in the banking industry, having held leadership roles at prominent institutions such as ICICI Bank and Axis Bank in India. His international banking expertise includes serving as CEO in two different banks in Africa, where he reported directly to the Board. In addition to his banking experience, Mr. Baseer served as Vice President of Product and Technology at a leading IT company in India for short period, where he gained valuable insights into technology architecture and integration within financial services.

An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, Mr. Baseer holds an Executive MBA in Strategy and Marketing, along with a Master’s degree and certification as an Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. He is also a Certified Research Analyst from the National Institute of Securities Markets in India.

Throughout his career, Mr. Baseer has excelled in various high-level roles, including strategy formulation, talent development, business expansion, risk management, product innovation, technology, governance, credit analysis, investment banking, portfolio management, and operations. His in-depth knowledge of banking technology platforms has equipped him with the skills in leading significant Information technology and digital transformation projects.

With an extensive professional network and a deep understanding of industry challenge, ranging from regulatory compliance, digital transformation, and cloud computing to cybersecurity threats, artificial intelligence, competitive pressures, and shifting customer expectation, he brings targeted expertise to the banking and financial sectors.
