As part of its strategic expansion, the Company has recently invested in and commissioned a hi-tech precision manufacturing and assembly facility at Nashik. The facility is equipped to manufacture and assemble large, complex and precision-engineered components and assemblies for demanding industrial applications. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic techno-commercial Business Development / Marketing professional to play a key role in building the Company's customer base, acquiring new business and contributing to the rapid growth of the Nashik manufacturing facility.
Position Overview
The Marketing Manager – Business Development & Techno-Commercial Sales will be responsible for driving business growth by identifying new markets, applications and customers, developing strategic customer relationships, managing the complete RFQ-to-Order cycle, and achieving defined sales and business conversion targets.
The role will focus on expanding the Company's presence across Heavy Engineering, Railways, Construction & Mining, Marine, Defence, Industrial Equipment and other engineering sectors through new customer acquisition, business development and strengthening existing customer relationships.
The incumbent will work closely with Customers, Engineering, Estimation, Production, Quality, PPC and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely submission of technically sound and commercially competitive proposals and successful conversion of opportunities into orders.
The position will play a critical role in increasing revenue, market share, order booking, profitability and customer satisfaction, while establishing long-term strategic customer partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & New Customer Acquisition
Identify new business opportunities, markets, customers, applications and industry segments.
Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve growth and order booking targets.
Identify potential OEMs, EPCs, Tier-1 companies and major industrial customers.
Develop relationships with key decision-makers including Purchase, Sourcing, Engineering, Projects, Operations and Senior Management.
Generate new leads through market research, customer visits, networking, exhibitions, conferences and industry interactions.
Develop new accounts and convert prospective customers into long-term business relationships.
2. Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
Regularly engage with customers to understand their current and future requirements.
Identify opportunities for repeat business, cross-selling, new applications and customer diversification.
Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address commercial or relationship-related issues.
Develop long-term strategic partnerships with key accounts.
3. RFQ-to-Order Management
Manage the complete RFQ lifecycle, from receipt of enquiry through quotation, negotiation and order conversion.
Study customer RFQs, specifications, drawings and commercial requirements.
Coordinate with Engineering, Estimation, Production, Quality and Supply Chain teams for costing and technical feasibility.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of techno-commercial quotations.
Track RFQs, quotation status, customer feedback and conversion probability.
Follow up consistently with customers to move opportunities through the sales funnel.
Identify reasons for lost business and implement corrective actions.
4. Techno-Commercial Sales & Negotiation
Lead commercial discussions and negotiations with customers.
Coordinate pricing, costing, commercial terms and quotation finalization.
Negotiate effectively while protecting company margins and profitability.
Drive successful conversion of quotations into purchase orders.
Negotiate and finalize MSA, LTA, Rate Contracts, NDAs, Purchase Agreements and other commercial arrangements.
Ensure commercial commitments are aligned with the Company's capabilities and policies.
5. Market Development
Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, new applications and potential sectors.
Monitor industry developments, customer expansion plans, upcoming projects and investment opportunities.
Track competitor activities, pricing trends and market dynamics.
Identify opportunities for business diversification and new product development.
Develop market intelligence and provide actionable inputs to management.
6. Sales Planning & MIS
Maintain accurate customer, RFQ, quotation and sales pipeline records.
Prepare sales forecasts, RFQ MIS, order booking reports and management dashboards.
Monitor opportunity-wise and customer-wise sales pipelines.
Track monthly, quarterly and annual business development targets.
Provide regular updates to management on business opportunities, conversions, lost orders and market developments.
7. Business Proposals & Customer Presentations
Prepare business proposals, capability presentations, customer presentations and marketing collateral.
Present the Company's manufacturing capabilities, technology, quality systems and value proposition to prospective customers.
Coordinate customer visits to the Nashik manufacturing facility.
Support customer audits, technical discussions and capability assessments as required.
8. Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with: Engineering / Design → Estimation / Costing → Production → PPC → Quality → Supply Chain → Finance to ensure:
Technical feasibility
Accurate costing
Competitive quotations
Timely proposal submission
Successful order acquisition
Smooth transition from order acquisition to execution
9. Customer & Business Expansion
Identify opportunities for increasing business share with existing customers.
Develop strategic accounts and improve customer wallet share.
Explore opportunities for new components, assemblies and applications.
Support management in developing new geographical markets and industry segments.
Travel extensively for customer meetings, business development and market development activities.
Qualification & Experience
Education
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
MBA / PG qualification in Marketing or Business Management will be an added advantage.
Experience
8–12 years of relevant experience in Marketing, Business Development, Technical Sales or Techno-Commercial Sales.
Experience in manufacturing / precision engineering / industrial products is strongly preferred.
Proven experience in handling OEM customers and industrial clients.

Experience in preparing commercial offers and business proposals.
Knowledge of commercial contract management including MSA, LTA, NDA and Purchase Agreements.
Good understanding of manufacturing and supply-chain processes.
Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or equivalent.
Strong presentation, analytical and business development skills.
Ability to prepare MIS reports, sales forecasts, pipeline reports and business analytics.
