About the Company
A leading global automotive technology company is looking for an experienced Algorithm Development Engineer to join its engineering team in Bangalore. The organization is a global partner to leading automotive OEMs, delivering innovative solutions across Closure Systems, Interior Systems, and Motors & Electronics. With a strong global engineering presence and a focus on innovation, sustainability and advanced mobility solutions, this is an opportunity to work on technologies that contribute to the safety, performance and customer experience of next-generation vehicles.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Anti-Pinch Algorithm Development Engineer to design, implement, calibrate and validate obstacle-detection and pinch-protection algorithms for automotive window regulator, sunroof and power-closure systems. The role involves end-to-end ownership of the algorithm lifecycle, from requirements analysis and mathematical modelling through embedded implementation, calibration, system integration, compliance testing and production support.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop anti-pinch and obstruction detection algorithms for automotive powered closure systems.
Develop model-based and sensor-fusion solutions using motor, position and sensor data.
Create simulation models, control logic and adaptive algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink.
Develop mathematical and physical models of DC/BLDC motors, gearboxes, transmission mechanisms, closure dynamics, latches, cinching systems, seals, friction, gravity loads and mechanical losses.
Perform calibration, optimization and verification through MIL, SIL, HIL and vehicle testing.
Improve algorithm robustness across environmental variations, ageing effects and manufacturing tolerances.
Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, mechanical and validation teams.
Support customer engagements, technical reviews and compliance activities related to ISO 26262 and ASPICE.
Mentor team members and contribute to reusable algorithm platforms and engineering standards.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Control Systems, Signal Processing or a related field.
8+ years of automotive engineering experience.
5+ years of hands-on experience in anti-pinch algorithm development.
