- Review and update existing models based on engineering changes and design feedback.
2. 2D Engineering Drawings and Drafting
- Generate detailed 2D manufacturing drawings from 3D models and assemblies.
- Prepare component drawings, assembly drawings, weldment drawings, and fabrication layouts.
- Apply GD&T, dimensional tolerances, geometric tolerances, and appropriate drawing conventions.
- Ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and suitable for manufacturing, machining, fabrication, and inspection.
- Follow applicable global engineering and drafting standards.
3. Weldment and Structural Design
- Create weldment structures, frames, fabricated assemblies, and associated engineering drawings.
- Apply knowledge of welding processes, weld symbols, joint configurations, and fabrication requirements.
- Understand structural fabrication practices and shop-floor requirements.
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to address fabrication-related design issues.
4. Bill of Materials (BOM) Preparation
- Create, structure, and maintain Bills of Materials derived from 3D assemblies.
- Verify part numbers, component descriptions, quantities, assembly hierarchy, and associated metadata.
- Maintain accurate revision information and consistency between CAD models, drawings, and BOMs.
- Update BOMs in line with engineering changes and design modifications.
5. Manufacturing and Machining Support
- Apply a sound understanding of mechanical manufacturing and machining processes.
- Ensure designs and drawings are practical, manufacturable, and aligned with production requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve drawing discrepancies and technical issues.
- Incorporate feedback from fabrication and shop-floor teams to improve design quality.
6. CAD Data Management and Autodesk Vault
- Manage CAD models, engineering drawings, document revisions, and related design data.
- Use Autodesk Vault for file management, version control, and engineering documentation, with Vault Professional experience preferred.
- Follow established configuration management and engineering change management procedures.
- Maintain proper file structures, document traceability, and revision control.
7. CAD Data Migration and Standardization
- Support migration of CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation from legacy systems to target platforms.
- Validate migrated models and drawings for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Identify and correct data errors, missing information, and documentation inconsistencies.
- Standardize CAD files, metadata, naming conventions, and document structures.
- Ensure proper uploading, organization, and validation of engineering data in the designated systems.
8. Collaboration and Engineering Support
- Collaborate with global engineering teams, product line teams, and manufacturing units.
- Participate in design reviews and implement feedback from relevant stakeholders.
- Support engineering standardization, continuous improvement, and product development initiatives.
- Manage multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy, quality, and agreed deadlines.
