A strive for Continuous Improvement

By David Crossley

Over the last 16 years I have lost count of many quality assurance professionals, and of course business leaders, I have spoken to regarding their quality functions. Out of all of these conversations, so far, not one individual has told me that their quality function is perfect, there are always discussions on their need for improvements. As a quality professional I think Continuous Improvement ‘CI’ is built in, a mentality, built into the DNA which is essential to succeed in this role.

I can not take credit for this diagram, but I recently saw this and thought it was a very good pictorial example of the key drivers that help Quality professionals strive for improvements in what they do. As a result, I thought I would share it and see what everyone thought.

Do you think there is anything missing?

Are any of them wrong?

In any business today, there is always a need to strive for improvement, innovation and change within any market, it is continuous and functions like Quality need to keep up the pace.
