For the week of November 18th, The Antal group travelled to Abu Dhabi from 40 offices, representing 25 countries, with a combined distance travelled totaling over 660,000 km – almost the distance to the moon and back!
The Formula 1 themed conference was hosted at the InterContinental hotel in Abu Dhabi, UAE. It was a showcase of diverse international recruitment talent, bringing together a wide range of different countries and cultures under one roof to celebrate and develop the Antal group.
The focus of this year’s conference was primarily on the Antal Vision, Methodology and Values – with a collective focus on the ‘2 x 3’ Antal Vision, challenging the group to double their growth. For the franchise offices, the biggest incentive prize ever in the history of the Antal International Network was unveiled, involving a ‘once in a life time’ Formula 1 experience.
Across the two main days, the attendees heard from the board, received learning and development sessions, watched and interacted with motivational speaker Kevin Abdulrahman and got to hear from the rest of the group as they presented their successes and shared their knowledge for the betterment of everybody.
The Thursday afternoon had the most involved and ambitious team build activity of any AGC yet, with an Apprentice-themed list of items that the attendees, split into groups, had to go out and negotiate for at a local shopping center; testing their business acumen and teamwork in a competitive team build.
The Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony followed, with 15 awards presented to the best performing individuals and offices. Vincenzo Trabacca picked up the Chairman’s Award for Excellence as Antal Italy won Office of the Year Company Owned, while also collecting the most total awards (6). One of the key benefits of the conference is the internal collaboration that happens between the Antal offices – and just a day after the conference, Nizar Lallani’s Dubai office and Joe Devasia’s Mumbai office were able to share a valuable piece of business, capitalizing on our international network and quickly returning on the investment of the conference.
The feedback has so far been unanimously positive, with many attendees stating it was the best Antal Global Conference yet.
Edward Moore, Antal Germany Director, described the event as “the biggest and most prestigious Antal Global Conference”. Penny Simpson, a Managing Partner in the UK, said: “Absolutely outstanding organisation of this event. A fantastic balance of industry knowledge and good old fashion fun”, while Parkside Recruitment’s Sandra Parkyn stated it was the “Best AGC to date. Great to network with our global teams”, and Antal Spain Managing Director Leticia de la Herrán described it as “the best event ever, no doubt”.
Anthony Goodwin, Antal Founder & Executive Chairman, is delighted with how AGC 2019 went: “This year’s AGC was probably the best we’ve ever had. It was so international, I don’t think we’ve ever had as many different Antal offices attend. I couldn’t be happier. I thought it was time well spent and extremely enjoyable.”
With spirits high after the Antal Global Conference, it’s now time for the Antal group to put into practice the learnings from the conference, share business with the new connections made and capitalise on the collective energy generated to further develop the business.
Exciting times are ahead, with the Antal International network set to continue to grow and extend its reach into new regions off the back of this year’s conference. Watch this space – 2020 promises to be even bigger.
